Adrian Barich has just tweeted that Alex Silvagni has been delisted by Freo very surprising if true. If we are looking for kpd depth then I would think he's a much better option than Gillies who seems to have gone backwards this year. Barich also tweeted that the Saints are interested.
I would imagine there would be a few suitors for him.

Tom plays Hawthorn would have a premiership cup, Tom Murphy would have a premiership medal and we wouldn't be looking at such a great Hawthorn man leaving this club...not a big fan of yours right now Mr Ellis.

 You honestly reckon playing Ellis over Murphy lost us the game and if Murphy played we would've definitely won the premiership? We lost the game because we didn't take our chances and weren't good enough on the day.

Also I was disappointed in Ellis but I was also disappointed in Roughy, Rioli, Lewis etc. Clarkson chose Ellis ahead of Murphy, so surely Clarko is to blame over that decision not Ellis himself.

Silvagni is a very ordinary player. If we pick him up then I won't be disappointed, I just hope that we would never have to play him.

I thought freo had already done their culling - not knowing how this all works can you get rid of as many as you like,

Murphy deserved it. Ellis did not.
I see both sides of the argument by you can't just blame Murphy. Rioli did f*** all, same ith Roughy and Lewis and the majority of the team.

Sure

Why are people taking a swip at Ellis? If Guerra and Whitecross were not injured, then Ellis would not have been playing anyway. But because he is a ''depth" player that can come in and fill a role when required, it became a no brainer for Clarkson to choose Ellis. If not for Guerra and Whitecross injuries, of course Ellis wouldn't have played. Don't blame it on Ellis. He is on our list for a reason. :thumbsu:

Yep I strongly believe we put ourselves behind the eight ball on the Thursday night by not outing Ellis for Hodge, premierships are won on defensive efforts and Murphy is great when he is playing on a smaller player like Morton or put him in the forward line and let him towel up Shaw like he did Maxwell. I loved his game vs the Pies this year he is just about to repay all the faith the club has show in him and he is moving on, Gold Coast will be very lucky if they pick him up.

You are acting like Murphy is a champion of our side. How do you know if Murphy played, he would've stopped Shaw or Morton? You don't know this, so stop crying about the GF and move on. It's time to look forward, Murphy will be a loss to our depth and has been a very solid player for us but the HFC aren't exactly going to rue the day we let him go to the GC.

Still don't want him to go...

Ha Ha that is familiar.....for certain individuals around the BF circus. There are positives and negatives of Murphy and the HFC

+:
Ready made medium/small defender with 8 yrs experience under the belt, although he is 'depth', he brings significant leadership to our youngsters around the club, particularly at BH, which is very much underrated.
He owns Eddie Betts
Didn't he beat Steve Johnson....

-:
Refer positives, but as an experienced player who is just 'depth', can be seen as a list clogger (made famous by Cam Bruce), especially if Cheney is at the club also and the other 12 small/medium defenders.
Supporters whipping boy, with him gone BF can really nail down on Schoey and Clinton Young to abuse
Murphy leaving will give a young player an opportunity to step up (Duryea/ Litherland)

Most of all, Murph will provide much needed leadership to GC, something his old team mate browny could not learn.

Murph, Thank you and all the best in the future, expect a 40+ pick or a player in return.....

I would love to hang onto Murph too, he is a great bloke with great leadership and is good depth at our club but he isn't guaranteed games next year and honestly if he left for GC, I would be happy for him as he should get regular games and have a great few years helping the kids out.

Will be better for him if he leaves. Always fights hard and tries his best... but pretty far back in the order at Hawthorn.

Ellis was not at fault... He is a fringe player at best who gets injured very easily. Also when he went off subbed... we were in front or coming back hard, so to say it was his fault is just stupid. Blame our goal kicking... and the lack of effort from some of our superstars... Not saying Hodge... had a poor game but saw him try pretty hard.

Players were down and still only lost because of goal kicking... one that got away.

Hope we keep Young... wayward kicking sometimes... but from 60 out... his goal kicking is pretty good on the run. He is a reliable player... just never play him in defense and expect him to punch a ball through for a behind.

There's a thread for the Grand Final isn't there ?

I personally don't wanna hear or think think about it, its toodepressing it, so if you guys wouldn't mind can we get back to trades. :)

Anyway I've heard the comp pick we would get for Murphy will be heading o GC with him as part of a deal for Weller, I assume there would be more as well.

Young kicked 13.16 this year. He was a terrible shot at goal on the run this year.
