Can’t figure out why the Cats are heavy favourites for round 1, while I do think they should be slight favourites they have no Selwood and likely no Hawkins while we have Mitchell ?
Agree, amazing the number of posters who can't see past Geelong's 81 point GF win - 3 weeks earlier Geelong only just beat us after Gary Rohan played out of his skin and they fell in by 6 points - can't see where Geelong's list improvement are, I can see plenty of improvement in the Collingwood list and importantly, Collingwood's list improvements have been in areas of weakness. Can't wait for it all to start.

Agreed about the GF - definitely a case of deeply inferior opposition performance rather than Geelong having a vastly superior list.

It takes them forever to update this page.
It's been more than 2 months since the draft & our new boys still have no faces.
IIRC it was the same for Carmichael at the end of the season, months after the MSD.
Actually, there is still no photo of him!
Lift your game CFC media department!

The photos usually come after the photo day which should be coming up

Bowes is a good player but Henry and Clark are more VFL talents at this stage.

I agree that the grand final has distorted everyone's view of Geelong, but we have yet to see whether the glaring weakness that held us back in that final series, an extra tall defender has been addressed. We don't know whether the addition of Frampton will solve it. We have been strengthened elsewhere, but in our finals, those problems were covered one way or another, and so did not cost us dearly. I think that they are entitled to favoritism. I thought in our final against them, that we put everything we had on the table, while they had something in reserve.

Henry will be a gun, he just wanted a change in environment. He’s a scum bag.
Dunno if Henry is a scumbag but he did what was best for him (which I’m bitterly disappointed about) and while we got Mitchell (sort of) as part of a complicated trade we were not in a good bargaining position with the mangy cats. He’s quite a talent the little p*ick.

Darcy is apparently not certain for round 1 himself though.

I would be highly disappointed if we lose to Geelong round 1 - that’s how sure I am with this game!

Only thing I'd worry about from that match up is Henry's athleticm and leap could overpower Beau. But he would just use his pressure to overcome him.
Beau would bench-press him into the stands. I don't see him out-muscling Beau on a quick lead either. I think his only weapon would be a crashing pack mark but that's a big gamble for a defender.

You can already picture the first minute:

Cox taps the ball to Mitchell who handballs to JDG.
JDG kicks to a leading McStay who puts a knee in the back of Ollie. Spill.
Ollie gets up to pick the ball up, but Ginni has it already.
Ollie rips Ginni’s head off.

The crowd goes wild.
You forgot the part where he falls over and grazes his knee and then asks his mummy to kiss it better.

Ollie Henry bashing has probably needs to stop so it doesn't border on harassment but he can expect a hostile crowd whenever he plays Collingwood.

Henry's first big job will be getting a spot in the Geelong team. Who gets the boot for him to come in?

He's a talent but he's quite selfish and sulky when he doesn't get his own way.

Quite of a sook and definitely a pain in the rrrrs.

He's got a LONG way to go to become a MATURE AFL talent.

Bowes couldn't get a game with Gold Coast - I'd be surprised if he's in there best side
He was in their best side until his injury, then struggled after that. But the kid can play.

Hey guys, non pies fan here but have a Q regarding player position for supercoach.

Do you know if it looks like Lippa will be spending more time in the mids this year?

ps. loved watching you guys play last year (not something we have always been able to say over the years as saints fans )
