I don't know anything as fact but a pretty good idea we'll see Weitering, Curnow and Cuningham involved, if not all together, but most likely spread amongst the games somewhere. McKay possibly but not necessarily along with JGM and Gallucci. Silvagni unlikely would be my bet, but who knows for sure.

What has it been in previous years? 18 + 6 or 8?

Have a feeling it was 18 + 6 last year Harks.

That ****ing Injury Thread. Every time I log on (yes, I log off sometimes) I have my heart in my throat scanning to see if it is bolded. I hate you Injury Thread.

Good observation. More run...No tags...quick ball use but the one thing that will take some time for the guys to develop is the way Bolton wants them to position themselves around the ground. No Hamspons, Majak Daws etc would have a chance with what Bolton wants.

Yes, it is likely to be a slow, painful process in which we will leak game-changing easy goals to the opposition because either a player has failed to get into the right position or, alternatively, Bolton hasn't quite got the positioning right. Bolton's test will not be wins or close losses. His test will be does it look like, if there are no stuff-ups, the team is developing a game-plan that will eventually give us the easy game-changing goals - against the best sides.

Really articulate isn't he?

He should be a leadership lock and I'd be hoping he'd be pushing his case for captain in a few years.

I reckon he'll have a wonderful season.

Silvagni with our 5th pick is the biggest free hit of all time .
He's got the footy smarts that you just can't teach on top of a beautiful kicking action and a purple pedigree .
We paid a heavy price as a club to land where we did in the draft , of course only time will tell but our selections just look and feel so right .
If the cards fall our way it may well be the super draft that forms the foundation's of our next serious side ...

Interesting who may have slid in there for the pick after Jack that was under contemplation for a senior list spot (JGM or another?)?

Development year ahead as per majority of the draft picks, let alone a bottom ager.

Who's burning up the training track?

Andrejs Everitt, Carlton’s leading goalkicker last season, has taken his running game to another level over the pre-season. “This year I’m running as well as I have, I’m as strong as I’ve been,” he told AFL.com.au. Kade Simpson, 31, is running personal best times and says he has enjoyed his best pre-season since his mid-20s. The defender, who will be out of contract at season’s end, says he is in the best shape he has been for four or five years and has barely missed a training session. Dylan Buckley appears to have put on size in the gym without sacrificing his pace. The club’s five draftees, Jacob Weitering, Harry McKay, Charlie Curnow, David Cuninghamand Jack Silvagni, have been impressive on the track and Marc Murphy is close to full fitness after having surgery on his troublesome left shoulder

Bit of a nothing summary here.

Like our current #9 loved the game and each contest.
Who is showing signs of playing like Kenny this year?

PS thank to the training reporters. Great to learn how we are travelling before the footy starts.

It is interesting how some players just demand your attention and how others don't.

Weitering, Curnow and Cuningham have all forced you to look at them, this pre-season.
They already look like established AFL players by way of how they go about things.
McKay and Silvagni have also looked good, but outshone by the aforementioned.

Byrne, Boekhorst, Kerridge, Whiley and Smith have all had eye-catching moments/periods of time.
Wouldn't be at all surprised should the majority of these guys be playing regularly by years end.....and several will start soon enough.

Lamb has shown good moments but has had some sloppy moments as well.
Wright really shows up through match sim. Could be handy at times for us this year.
Gallucci similar to Wright but just not as effective on my viewings.
Gorringe just doesn't scream 'look at me' although I've been told that he's been tracking well.

Glass-McCasker, Plowman and Sumner just haven't been in the main group often enough to get any gauge on them....................and then there's Phillips.
Have been absolutely thrilled for what I've seen of him at every session. It will be very interesting as to how we go into the season opener.

Your training reports and insights into how the players are tracking from your observations are much appreciated

We go a long way if these players step up this year
1. Phillips come on early to share ruck and forward with Kruezer
2. Cunningham play that linking outside mid on one wing
3. Curnow - third tall, leading forward , Jack Darling type
4. Gorringe to hold down CHF or FF with Casboult
