I think JAcksons forward problem is lack of top end speed, so the defenders close him down.
thats the same problem with him in the back line, top end speed,I think JAcksons forward problem is lack of top end speed, so the defenders close him down.
Ask Jonas how that goes. That's when you have to make them afraid to go near you. Tony Lockett and Dave Granger weren't that fast.

Except it was never a problem. He's always been a reliable defender who rarely gets beatthats the same problem with him in the back line, top end speed,
Anyone saying that Trengove leaving is 'good for the club' because we need to develop kids needs to be certified.
It's ******* SHIT for the club. If we are serious about building a premiership quality list, then why the **** would we get rid of a player who, in two games back at SANFL level, has completely and utterly dominated the forward line? He's got the tools to be a successful forward, he just needs some time at the lower level to gain confidence. Trengove has done more in two games at SANFL level than John Butcher ever did in his entire career at SANFL level.
The point of developing a list isn't gifting games. It's making sure that the players picked are the very best players available for a particular position. Frampton isn't going to be held back by Jackson - it will inspire and drive him. I'd rather have Frampton and Trengove fighting for that forward/ruck spot over the next few years than lose Trengove for some crap second round pick.
For the very first time, Jackson would be feeling the heat to perform that he hasn't felt in a long time. And just by my reading of his character, that will actually drive him to get better in the off-season.
Unfortunately for him, the contract he was on was based around him being our star CHB, not our second tier forward. So he needs to accept that he's not going to get paid the same amount of money he was on - if he's going to be our forward/ruck, he needs to own both positions, because if we're going to play a three tall forward line with Dixon, Marshall and Trengove, the ball isn't going to be able to lock in as much so he needs to make his kicks count.
i dont think so, he was often caught out letting letting forwards run off him and get behind him, his hand balling & kicking are only average, AFL is too fast for a player of his speed to be playing defence, the coaches wont say it publicly buts thats the reason why he's been taken out of defence and i agree with itExcept it was never a problem. He's always been a reliable defender who rarely gets beat
It's got nothing to do with money. He wants to stay, but he also wants to play and not be depth.
That isnt guaranteed now.
He's not depth. He's still better then Frampton. It's up to him to make sure that he stays better by working on his craft.
Dougal is a better footballer, and a better chbif Jacksons so good then why is howard playing his position
Ask Jonas how that goes.
exactlyDougal is a better footballer, and a better chb
Unpopular opinion glasses on.
I've never been a fan of his on field talents. Outside of his aggression and voice, I've found him slow and undamaging on the rebound. His year in the ruck was his most influential for us.
I was never a fan of Carlile either. Thought our defence was our weakest line (pre-schulz retirement). Now it's one of our strengths.
Moving Trengove forward was a little odd from the outset, especially when we recruited Eddy (a specialist forward).
I love the guy, but he's honestly a role player, which exactly why we've been swinging him about.
All that said, I'd prefer to keep him BUT he needs to do more to be best 22.
For how long though that could change over summer Frampton is already a better forwardHe's not depth. He's still better then Frampton. It's up to him to make sure that he stays better by working on his craft.
Defensively he was the best defender we had from 2011-2015.
He isn't in our 22 for the weekend, despite an injury/suspension to defenders. He's not depth. He's still better then Frampton. It's up to him to make sure that he stays better by working on his craft.
you should see some of the scores we had against us in that time!Defensively he was the best defender we had from 2011-2015.
Well said. Jacko is one of the most Port-Adelesque players on our list. John Cahill would've loved him.I unashamedly love the bloke and will monkey knife fight anyone who disagrees. He is a necessary part of our club.
There hasn't been much Port Adelaide in the Port Adelaide team in the last couple of years but Jacko still makes me think old Port. His demeanor his attitude, his desire to help the team is what I want around my club.
I would say to Jacko if I could hang tough for at least a year mate. As much as I hope, dream and prepare my OCD rituals for it I can't see us jagging the flag this year or next so the new coach will take a decent look at our strengths which include you.Feel dirty even thinking that we won't get the flag cos I want to win so bad it hurts.
Has done what has been asked of him when it has been asked of him. Need a lift in the ruck at an important time (Monfries bounce showdown)- get Jacko. We have no ruck but still need to be competitive - get Jacko.Want to protect the young fellas - get Jacko
Our gameplan has been a joyless run all fricken day no forward structure that is a coach and career killer.Jacko has adapted before and can and will again if he is given and wants the chance.
Would be a few I would be tapping on the shoulder before lining Jacko up against the wall and saying consider your options.
For me it comes down to if it was an important game and there was five minutes to go who would I want to see near the ball as a player or supporter who would I know would be busting their poovoov valve and giving their blood or body for me and the team. High amongst it would be Jacko and he wouldn't need to be told to go to the contest because he would already be there.
Jacko has earned the right to do what he wants but Davies, Ken, KT sort this shit out.
No player has earned the right to do what they want. No player is greater than the club!I unashamedly love the bloke and will monkey knife fight anyone who disagrees. He is a necessary part of our club.
