I'm all in for challenging the status quo, racism, prejudices and self centred arrogance, especially when it comes to our future as a planet.

But I am fecked if I can understand the link between intentionally vandalising priceless works of art in public galleries and climate change.

Yes, it's dumb. You want to be a climate activist, go lock yourself onto a bulldozer in the tarkine in the middle of winter, like dozens of others have done.

It gets attention.

But so would killing some fashies instead of vandalising one of the actual good things.

It’s a reflective act, the elites that value art, but not the environment are getting a ‘taste of their own medicine’, it’s daft, but there’s a logic.

If Rinehart offered to pay off Ports debts, and redevelop Alberton I’d bite her hand off!

There’s no such thing as ‘clean’ multi millions.

If you want your club/sport to have them, you have to accept that reality.

I’d prefer sport to be fair and self sustaining by members fees, but that ship has long sailed.
Kathy Harby said in the interview, it wasn’t a climate or ‘clean’ issue, but more to do with what was was said by daddy Hancock and hasn’t been denounced by Gina. Or words to that suggested that.
She said both the players assoc and Netball Aus were left shocked that Hancock withdrew altogether.

I value art too. They'd be better off taking a dump on Bezos driveway
They would if they could.

“Their point is do you value it over the planet?” Nothing matters if we all burn. Not even art.

Of all the false dichomies…

Discharged from hospital too late to hit the road, nearly had to ask one of yous blokes for help! Ended up being extorted having to pay for the minimum two nights accommodation.

This is why I'm a tightarse. Gotta save for the rainy days when it rains this often.

Anyway how came you croweaters don't know what a scallops is?

Billionaire artists and creatives deserve it but I don’t think there are any.

And tbh none will ever get there without needing to turn their art in to a business, ie, KISS

But surely you wouldn't take that money at any cost? If it risked tearing apart the fabric of what makes it OUR club?

I love how it’s been pointed out by some how many shitload trucks of money she’s handed to charities, sporting organisations etc and how altruistic she’s been and how she’s done so much for the indigenous people by setting up so many programs but she can’t find it in her heart to distance herself from those comments.

We already do, we take gambling money, we take car money, we take foreign money, we take fast food money, we take mining money, we take steel works money, we take government money, we take TV money, we take bank money. All clubs do. In fact having just the one donor who we could track would actually be a huge improvement.
We are already part of a ‘sport’ that extorts millions from the public purse.
A sport that still patronises undermines indigenous Australians and women, but like to pretend it doesn’t.

Not taking Gina’s money seems a bit redundant.

Don't forget booze money.

Not wanting to argue about whether to cross a bridge we’re never going to come to anyway… but people are always going to choose where they draw the line, and it’s almost always going to be arbitrary and/or hypocritical if given that much scrutiny, because that’s the nature of line-drawing.

Do sportspeople deserve to be billionaires is an interesting conservation.

LeBron is possibly the only employee billionaire on the planet.
