Arguably a suboptimal time to launch your solo career

Spare a thought for the strokes - Is this it album, which featured the banger "New York City Cops" with the notable line"new york city cops, they aint too smart". Released July 30 2001, but was subsequently deleted from later releases.

ripper track

Back in the rotation now though, they played it at Splendour in July.

yeah i think it was just the US album versions that got pulled. its a genuinely good song lol

great album, wouldn't mind getting my hands on a vinyl version.

most of my fav bands i've been able to see live at some point or another, the strokes were up there for a while in the early 2000s and haven't been able to catch them yet.

not really interested in hearing anything after first impressions of earth though..

First Slayer thing I was properly exposed to was the live show of the god hates us all tour. Was good.

soundwave 2013 had an absolutely ridiculous lineup

Lineup[edit]

probably my 2nd favourite slayer album after reign in blood. absolute balltearer that one. only time i got to see slayer was 2013 and they played a lot of god hates us all tracks. absolutely went off

Wouldn't be in my top 5 but has some good tracks. First 5 albums are hard to top, even the first 6.

Saw them at Thebby in '07 and the whole floor was a moshpit. Came out of it absolutely drenched from head to toe.

had tickets for the slayer / megadeth thebby concert in '09 but slayer pulled out late due to tom having laryngitis. they came out and told us as we were in the lineup outside.

slayer at thebby would have been loud as **** as well.

saw slipknot in 1999 at thebby and that was possibly the loudest gig i've ever been to. could have also been because my ears hadn't been destroyed at that point.

#2 was cough/windhand at fowlers. windhand were loud but cough was brutally deafening.

thebby is brutal in summer on a hot night, but i suppose thats any venue.

anyone aware there's a test match on atm? interest in cricket would be just about at an all time low
Had no idea, and then when you find out you carry on with your life.

Don't know if much tops this...

It was promptly pulled, and revised:

Reconsider that. The most recent album was a massive return to form IMO. The Adults Are Talking and Ode To The Mets would both make my top 10 Strokes songs easily.
