going back to previous discussions, one of the posters mentioned ringing their bank and getting an interest rate reduction.
one 20 min phone call later and they've knocked off a full 1% lol.

i'll still probably refinance for the cashback but at least i'm not getting screwed quite as badly in the meantime.

if you haven't done it yet and your current variable rate is much above 5%, give it a go.

I pirated a game for the first time in years and years and the cracked installer had some in built crap techno playlist that couldn't be turned off and it genuinely warms my heart that people are still doing s**t like that.

Cracked installers. That takes me back.

Is there a particular department you speak too about it?

Anyone know much about the NDIS?

I mean our daughter is on it so we use it, but I was talking to a mate today who is on it, and to my knowledge his only disabilities are related to speech impediments. He has a job, a license and car, shops for himself, goes to the club for a beer with mates, goes on holidays (to watch the crows, maybe that's another disability...), Etc.

Today he tells me that he's going to New Zealand next month and the NDIS is paying for most of it. What gives there? What I'm trying to say is he's a guy in his 30s who functions close to a normal unhindered human adult, and he's getting shouted a holiday, when I know of others who have really struggled to get anything, and we did for a while and are now burning through our funds purely on therapies for our four year old.

Fun fact, some people can access “sexual therapy” via NDIS.

Also you should consider that you possibly don’t know the extent of your mate’s disability.

I did the same last Thursday
Exactly the same result
Got 1% without even trying
Had a big sob story / pitch planned but didn’t need it

I email our loan guy sometimes, last one was about four months ago, wonder if I go straight to him or call the bank and get whatever.

Absolutely incredible aurora last night. Would have been visible from the mainland as well. Have seen a few down in Tas but this one was about 10,000% better, could see it dancing in the sky for hours

Just one pic of many, taken on my phone

That’s the lights of celebration coming from above Alberton the night Ken leaves town…

I have a vague memory of seeing the aurora from our backyard in Brighton (Adelaide) when I was a kid - possibly back in the day when they turned the street lights off at a certain time and there wasn't much light pollution.

Saw some pics from someone in happy valley that could see it last night

Cape Jervis or deep creek would have been a ripper place to see it
