Can we please stop with the "send them to Div 1" crap!

Logistically I would find it impossible for the VAFA to promote a team mid-season.

How do you allocate the points?
Who comes down and how many points to they get?
How do you change the fixtures?
What happens with the %'s?

I agree the season may now be somewhat boring but enjoy what is a great team. By all means continue to argue whether they would beat Div 1 teams, but realistically we're not going to find out until next year.

From all acounts, that is the only thing stoping the VAFA from putting them up... there are way to many ground clashes!

Old Ivanhoe also did it again in Divy 3 to the 4th team. Their 3rd 100 pont victory in 5 games.

All the praise in Div 3 seems to be going OI way this season, but until they play the boys from Old Essendon, you can't even put them in the same category as St. Bede's.
We've played both teams this season and they were both a class above us and the rest of the teams we've encountered thus far. Both teams deserve to be commended on their start to the season, and will be serious contenders in Div. 2 in 2008.

Keep an eye out for the game which is due to be played in rd 9, and don't be at all surprised to see the boys from OE run all over the 'hoes, just like they did every year in the AGSV comp.

Yeah, the top 2 undefeated sides in OI & OE in Div 3 - should be a cracker.!....for a moment there I thought you were going to mention St Bedes & Beaumaris and their clash in R9...how stupid of me, as this is the U19(2) thread...

Wake me up when either of them get into Div 2 then we can get excited.

Quite Right Cardio Carl. OI , OE ?? who else is in division 3 . OU , OR ??
Who cares

Who do you think is the best "team manager" in U19s Section 2?..

I would say the great Paul "ROD" Tobin would be the best...

Apparently people on the summit at Mount Everest have said that major avalanches have occured on Saturdays around 1.45pm local Melbourne time due to a booming laugh. Maybe his pre match LAUGH is the source to St Bedes massive victories!

Ps. he loves being called "rod"

And Rumour has it, that the St Bedes Under 19's Captain will be attending the end of year vote count sober this year, as he cannot remember what
happened last year.

This thread's getting a little boring.

Tips for this week

Beaumaris to bet old melburnians by 55 pts
Old brighton to beat whitefriars by 82 pts
Caulfield to draw with collegians. neither knows how to win !
St Bedes to beat Old parade by only 180 pts , as it will be little
cold out there this weekend. Will need a couple of quarters
to warm up.
Banyule vs old camberwell..best game of the weekend. Banyule
by 2 pts

Pumped for the Camberwell game - who picks up Caine ? ? How will he go against the side he kicked a lot of goals for ? ?

I say Camberwell will lead them a merry dance in the second half.

Given SBM dominance, games like this become game of the month !

St.B.M.T got up by 25 odd goals, their percentage actually dropped nearly a point from this, probably i spose because they didn't win by another 30-40 goals. Old Paradians may think that they're not to bad considering. However, Tigers had 5 boys up in the seniors yesterday and another couple out due to injury.

I see St Bedes are not only killing this league on the park but on Big Footy too. Ill throw my tips into the wind regardless.
Brighton should have a relativly easy win away to Collegians, im going to say by 36 points.
Game of the round is at Junction oval where OC and Melburnians will hit it out. Should be a great game by U/19(2) standards, with Camberwell taking the honours by less than a kick.
Banyule will thump St Bedes by 600 points in an abrupt turn around for the Tigers.
Beauy will also continue their winning ways against Parade, 50 points at the least.
Finally, Whitefriars will continue their dive for divvy 3 and loose to caulfield by 32 points.
Good luck on the park boys.

Tough for him to have to go to Brindisi twice in a year !

Needs to relax a bit and enjoy the footy. Not sure where his future lies.

Can play. Great kick historically.

Unlucky for old melburnians again. last week lost by a kick and again got defeated by just two points against old camberwell. what happened to st bedes? where was there 1000 point win. you would have to think that banyule would almost count that as a win against st bedes

When has 8 points been a kick?

Saw this game yesterday, and wouldn't say Old melbourne was unlucky...rather they were lucky to only lose by 2 points. should've been smashed by 10 goals at least. camb dominated and really shouldve kicked more accurately.

old melb are a very average side, tall but soft as...too many passengers and dont even know how to play their own home ground (were carved up by camberwells running game). wont make finals.

What are peoples thoughts on caulfields tunaround. Good test this week against camberwell

cchar....your kidding aren't you - Caulfiled turnaround!...They have just come off back to back wins against Collegians & Whitefriars, the 2 worst teams in ANY U19 division who (1) have won 1 game between them in 14 games - and that was when Collegians beat Whitefriars (2) get smashed by range of 14-17 goals each week.

Their other 'massacre' was against a depleted Banyule who still had more scoring shots than them.

OCG will smash them by +10 goals this week.

A bit harsh on the Caulfield boys there Cardio!!! Agreed their results havent been the greatest, but I think the win against Banyule was deserved. They worked hard for it and got the points in the end. This week decides wether they give the 4 a push or start falling down the ladder. Wait in earnest.

I reckon that St bedes will beat Old brighton this week. 1st vs 3rd.
Should be a good game !!

mmm.... ok lets wait until the weekend.

if they get within 10 goals I will run around my backyard in the nude.

Interesting to see that two Brighton u-19s starred for Victoria... McGuinnes and Anthony were arguably the two best on ground for the vics... I don't suppose they'll be coming to play in the 19s at all this year will they?
would be valuable additions to play StBedes this week.
