Tips for this week:

De La Salle vs Old Scotch - Match of the round, but De La to be way to strong and win by more then 30 points

Old Melburnians vs Beaumaris - Should be a very good match with OM's always improving and Beauy needing to win to stay in touch with the top 2... to be tight all day and for OM's to win by less then 10 points!

St Bedes/Mentone Tigers vs Fitzroy - St Bedes down at Brindisi = Morals! St Bedes by at least 70 points!

Old Xaverians vs Uni Blues - OX should continue their great form and make it 3 from 3 against the Uni sides, doubt it will be another 100+ point margin but its all about which team rocks up for Uni!

Uni Blacks vs Bye - About time this happened! Better for the comp! on them dropping down I gather it will only be one team dropping down at seasons end?

I tend to agree with most of these, but i'm tipping the game between Xavs and Blues will be a lot closer than people think. Sounds strange but the OX were pretty poor last week, not looking like a premiership sides bootlace! If they had played like that against De La the week before, they would've found themselves down by 50 points at half time.
Not doubting the talent they have, but last week was the first time I've questioned the xavs, leaving me wondering whether they are a genuine chance come september when de la get all their guns back

Didn’t they kick 14 goals in the last quarter? Bloody hell you are hard to please….

De La don’t have all that many to come back in. May possibly get 2 back from seniors and a couple back from injury. Improvement will come from finding some form rather than huge numbers of players coming back.

Tend to agree with you re: the closeness of the xavs/uni game this week however I'm not sure about you saying Xavs were no good. Didn't they kick 20 second half goals??? I saw them against De La the week before and they looked impressive... De La do have got a few more to come back - Todd, Close, Harris will play too.

Very even comp though... Beauy/Bedes/Scotch are all still challengers.

Round 10 UnderCat - I wouldn't even discuss premierships just yet.

Underdog that's a very critical analysis isn't it? From
All accounts the xavs looked a much more formidable outfit with the Captain douglas back in the side, after his mid season training block Arizona style to overcome weight fluctuations was a success. I feel the competition will fear a trim Douglas

All i'm saying is that if xavs want to be seriously considered as the team to beat, they cant afford to play three poor quarters of footy against average sides (fitzroy). Against good sides they would have been punished. Saying this however, the last quarter was truly something to remember; 14 goals in a 1/4 in any comp is an achievement, there's no doubt that at the moment, xaviers best will beat anyone elses best..it was just the first time i saw them slip up a bit on the weekend, and the score board definitely didnt depict the eveness of the game

Lets just be thankful Blues are 3 1/2 games out of the 4!! as they could have done some damage if they made the 4! Expect them to shape the 4 though.....

The top 3 spots maybe locked in. I still think that 4th spot is still up for grabs.

The blues have come home strongly in previous years and I think it can happen again 2011.

They are now 4 games and percentage out after the result of the Beauy game! I think its safe to say Scotch are cooked after this mornings effort...

Sorry RFS but no chance. Just too far back with too few games to play. One of the current group would have to drop several unlosable games. Now playing quite well but 3 wins from your first 10 won’t get you in finals to often.

De La rediscovered some form today. With O’Connell the latest under 19 to be called up to the seniors I actually thought they looked a bit light on but had it not been for some wayward goal kicking in the last the margin would have gone beyond 100. Agree Scotch are gone. Looked a shadow of the team we played earlier in the year. 3 weeks is a long time in footy. From equal top to a distance 5th.

And well done to Old Brighton who had a win in second division today when they beat Ormond. Shows the gulf between Premier and the rest.

In saying that Ormond had 4 less players... Is the ladder meant to reset for Section 2 and 3?

Still think the final 4 will be:

OX
DLS
SBM
Beau

I see Ormond had 20 so you would think 18 v 18 on the field all day. To get smashed for 9 weeks I reckon it’s a fair effort for those blokes to stick together and finally get a win. Agree with your ladder prediction. Can’t see that changing.

Scotch gone ..............discuss :thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:

Gone. Three consecutive smashings tells the story. As stated previously many a time, Scotch were never the danger. De La are starting to get their better players back. I feel they're favourites for the comp (will try and play down their chances though).

Ahhh my friend welcome back !!

Agree - Scotch never a threat at anything.

Agree with you also - De La team to beat ;)

haha, your bitterness towards that school astounds me. Why be a hater?

I wouldn't write off Beauy or SBM, the baysiders have some solid TAC Cup players going around.

Scotch look to be gone, could come 6th or 7th. If somehow they make the 4 could be an interesting finals series.

I am starting a petition to get 'once again' and 'the muf' out of this forum as there posts are to one eyed. I am sick of reading about the old xavs, it is starting to get boring about how they 'have the premiership in the bag' I think otherwise and so does the rest of the forum

To say scotch is never a threat at anything is a bit farfetched seeing as since the Xavier game there has been more than 12 changes to the side. At full strength they 'were' a threat as they beat Xavier.

' have the premiership in the bag' - please inform me when I or Hairy have said such a statement!

And I think if you look at most of my posts you will find its more to do with how pathetic Scotch are.....;);):)

Off to cash converters you peasant !!

Don't get too hot under the collar TVstealer... I wouldn't let a forum get under you skin too much champ.

What are you like when you get done on a Saturday??

No one has the premiership in the bag at Round 11, particularly Xavs. Howver tags do come naturally with being on top though...

I wouldn't look into the Round 7 game either with regards to Scotch result. Scotch had a far better side last year and did the same thing to Xavs all year round except for when it mattered.

Fact - Xavs to beat, De La perennial contenders, Beauy & Bedes are a lottery.

De la are the side to beat in my opinion. Always going to be strong on any day and will be cherry ripe for finals. Xavs should make the grand final but they cant have any injuries or players missing to tac if they are a chance to win the premiership. I think St bedes with finish 3rd and could threaten in finals if they have access to their tac players. Beauy and scotch to challenge for 4th. I think its silly to discard scotch after 3 poor performances. For those people who think its silly to be talking premeirship in round 10 keep quiet and wait for grand final week to put forward your grand final tips. have a go and put your predictions out.

I predict De La as champs and Xavs runner ups (DE LA will run those blokes from Xavs off their feet).

I pity K Lorraine and Once Again that have to hid behind a keyboard and pay out other posters and other teams. I hope you two acutally play and get a kick and you certainly don't fluster me on this forum. Stick to more constructive posts rather than:
1. How good Xavs are and
2. How bad Scotch are.

It gets a bit boring listening. Hopefully you guys can converse a bit better to people when you have a face to face conversation.

I've held back a lot from the dribble between you and OnceAgain thanks Saha... Couldn't give a flying about Scotch either so you need not worry there.

I have commended De La plenty of times. I don't know what to make of St Bedes as there scores are yoyo like... I did payout Beaumaris a couple of times and worthy of it too.

Don't know too much about the Xavs either, except for seeing them earlier in the year and they were good - now they're on top and you can't argue with there form.

Keep your insecurities to yourself and let the lads talk.

Play On...

St Bedes are only good when tac cup (school kids) have a bye, that's the reason for their up and down scores. Xavs and De La are lucky enough to have 50+ kids to choose from, giving them incredible depth come injuries etc.. so you ecpect them to be in the top 4 regardless of form
