Was walking the dog round the albert park area and saw wat looked like OMs training on a small oval near junction. They were looking sharp with alot of tough physical work. Also DLS better watch out for Gooley's tackling power and outstanding leadership from Harold Joop. So DLS better be switched on otherwise it could be a shock start to the season.

If it's the same Gooley then he will be as soft as his two older brothers, and I'm not sure De La will be worried by a bloke that's named after a bottle of aftershave.

OM's players please refer to posts of years gone where very over confident types have talked themselves up only to never post again after being humbled on the field.

As previously stated De La to start the season off with a win.

lees is currently playing OX seniors. If he's recent form [on and off the field (can drink lol)] continues he should maintain his spot. Go sam,

OM's have recruited well over the summer with the likes of Lois Dean, a sneaky goal sneak from shepperton and John Cooper, a powerful full forward from the Mallee. should be an interesting year

Also further recruitment of a new tall forward who quit at williamstown by the name of Coverdale, only been to two trainings so i hear and is still unsure on whether paperwork has gone through at the VAFA headquarters. But all going well this gun could kick 100 goals for them...

enough with the constant crap talking by om players please. take note of the crap that ox talked last year on this forum and where it got them

Pollard Humphrey Todd O'Connell and Murphy will be too good and too strong for OM's

Lees for the league b n f followed by Little rover/forwrad from Beaumaris

If i'm not mistaken OX got into the grand final

Did I hear correctly or not that Max Davis is missing 2-3 weeks due to an allergic reaction to a wasp sting? If this is true I believe someone like Le Mon would be better suited for the Old Scotch leadership

If i'm not mistaken OX got into the grand final

yeah and they lost and were the runners up after celebrating like they won the premiership in the semi and all there supporters ran on the ground and talked crap for 2 weeks on the forum because they forgot that they needed to win the grandfinal first. still OX is my tip for premiers as long as they can let there boots do the talking

A couple of great matches coming up.

OX vs Beaumaris
De La vs OS

and the other games look to be tight contests.

Sloth out

i heard one of the st bedes players was taken away by the ambos yesterday and the game had to be called off with a few minutes to go.. does anyone know how the bloke is??

Watched OM's go down to a well prepared and fit looking De La side on saturday... However some issues they will have in future is lack of tall forwards after the lanky Nethersole was bent in two by a Joop tackle that not only cracked several ribs but also left skid marks in his jocks... Hopefully a speedy recovery (i heard 4 weeks)...

you are correct nananana an st bedes player was taken away by the ambos after a horrid fall in a marking contest. as far as i kno he is making a speedy recovery

i stand corrected there with those tips...3 outa 5 but...one was a draw?

beauy...yep got wrong mail outa that camp....and marc? another performance like that and they can pencil in north or south 1 for sure next season.

de la... *cough* slow starters... haha 10 goal win and sbmt... have really just slid down hill since that 08 flag. (however they did still win the flag)

xavs as well stamping themselves in early...nice nice + scoptch and blues good to see teams so close they cant be split... fighting out a draw.

ill be more on the money this round i can assure u

Mister X remember that there was no C grade games last week so Beauy and OC would have been at full strength. Perhaps they had a few who would otherwise have played seniors. Great call by LewJay about De La. He has not been heard from since. We can forgive one poor prediction so come back LewJay. OM’s were actually pretty good and will trouble a lot of sides especially on that ordinary ground outside the Junction.

The mail about OC being very good was spot on. The mail about Beauy being ordinary looks to be very wrong.

Tips for this week

Blues by plenty
OC to continue their winning ways
Blacks for mine
OX too strong
DLS top of the pops

Thought I'd share my tips as a newbie here.............

UB 10 goals - too big, too strong, angry coach. St Bede's fading.....
OM's to get up in the battle of the new kids on the block - just! 5 points.
Blacks vs Marcellin - Richmond vs Melbourne - who knows??? Blacks 2 ponts
OX by 6 goals - too solid - what's this about Beauy zoning!!!! Ha! Can't imagine it working at U19 level let alone on some of the big grounds...Like Theirs! Won't beleive it til I see it!
De La over the Cardinals but not by much - 4 goals? I see Pollard played Seniors! Good effort for a little guy! Any others playing ones?

As a new new poster, here are my tips for round 2. for what its worth anyway!

Uni Blues by 20pts over St Bedes.

Old Camb by 6pts in close one to OM. Toss Of the coin tho!

Uni Blacks in another close one by 10 pts.

OX to breakdown the Beau Zone 22pts. Should be a cracker of a match! Match of the round! High scoring my tip!

De la by 30 pts over Scotch! De La are the ones to beat this year.

Best of luck to all players this weekend.

Cheers Nasi

Ladder after Round 2

1. De La Salle
2. Old Xavs
3. Beaumaris
4. Old Camberwell
5. St Bedes/Mentone
6. Old Melburnians
7. Marcellin
8. Old Scotch
9. Uni Blues
10. Uni Blacks

Melburnians had plenty out and Scotch will miss top four. Still doubting their ability to go back to back. Xavs turn this year.

Round 1 de la had - no pollard, no hunt, no murphy, espinosa finished early injured and Humphrey still coming back from a broken hand. Beleive Tom Mcmahon big ex sandy dragon player has been cleared to de la aswell. dont count them out of the premiership race in round two lewjay.
