AFLW 2024 - Round 10 - Chat, game threads, injury lists, team lineups and more.
hampton beat st bedes with 14 fit blokes and 4 sitting in the forward line, and no bench. the result was only by 10 points i believe
To "sit" all four injured players in the forward line is a pretty silly move. Does Hampton have 22 players? They always seem to be depleted...
But then isn't that the case for every side?

Where else would you put 4 injured players ? Apart from on the bench
Personally I'd spread them out, rather than put them in a cluster where their injuries can be exposed and exploited. But, Hampton won, although narrowly.
As for the initial match report, audaciously arguing for Hampton's superiority in winning with a depleted side, that's shameless. You're shameless.
Did they win? Might be an idea to clam up ya goose.
Dxm, not trying to walk back over old ground here, but i do remember you telling us about mazenods winning streak despite being without a number of players who would take the field come finals time. Just sounds a bit hypocritical to me.
Let's be honest. This Dxmxgxd character is just a moron who's on here to incite and flatter his already inflated ego. He'll get his come uppance in September when there'll be plenty of excuses as to why they were so good all year only to choke on the big stage.
Yeah this Dxmxgxd is full of it but i dont think he has gone around making obscene calls like the hampton guy is by saying they always have only about 15 fit men on the field each week. Its there fault for not recruiting heavily enough.
I wasnt trying to start the same banter again, merely saying that, from where i am sitting anyway, you had said pretty much the same thing.ay i admit to saying we had players out and we would be a beta side come finals. but i never said oh we're just unbelievably good even with these players out. ive piped down about mazenods prospects since the argument a few weeks bak since you all started have a pidge about it, so there is no point getting on my case again. if u want to then be my guest but the argument is not about me or mazenod at this point.

A club can only put a team out on the park that is available to them. I am aware hampton have more than ample numbers of their list, but they have been hit hard by injuries, more so than most clubs. St Bedes had the same problem on saturday and what resulted was a good tight game of footy. The injury card is not an excuse though, it happens to every club playing this sport. Its pointless saying we had so and so out because of his inflamed cataracs. That means nothing.
Im not fond of your definition of the St Bedes team, but as i agree with all the other analysis, i find it hard to disagree. Remember they are also a new side, alot of young blokes running around for them.My comment here doesn't pertain to anything that has been said so far. But, more than anything else, that's due to the hopeless misdirection of this forum. You are a rabble of self-serving and self-contradictory dimwits.
My evaluations:
Mazenod - Proficient. Seem to be a complete team with all the necessary ingredients for success. But it will be interesting to see if they can make the required step up during finals.
Hampton - Hard at it. I like their style of play. Their biggest weakness, I think, is their lack of self-belief. They seem to be surprised as well as proud every time they do well.
Monash Blues - Dxmxgxd is right. They are a dark horse.
Ajax - Soft.
Old Haileybury - Similar to Mazenod and Hampton in their style of play, but without the completeness of either. Lack strength in key areas, like their forward line and backline.
St Bedes/Mentone - They really come across as a seconds squad, breeding players for u/19 (2) and don't really come together as a team.
Parkdale - They only have a few good players, and don't command respect as a team.
PC - I guess... good on em?
Peninsula - Good running side, but they only have a few good players and not much heart.
I'd be interested to hear other opinions.
wasnt aimed at u johnny was talkin about uncle mick. at least johnny blaze is sincere in his arguments. uncle mick to single out me just bcoz its easy to due to my posts in the past. neck up and contribute an opinion about the matter instead of having cheap stabs.
It's just comical to see you spruik off about your side and now that you're a little threatened you've gone into your shell young man. The conservative attitude would've been far more appropriate if you haven't got the spine to back it when there's a challenge out, and your mob isn't quite as clear cut a favourite. No cheap stabs here. Just merely an observation from a distant follower.
spare us dmx, everyones sick of ur excuses/complaints/ego
up ya joots!

Uncle Mick. I too am a distant follower, and, having myself followed the contents of this forum, I find that it behoves you to reconsider some of the assumptions you appear to have made.
(i) That Dxmxgxd has an ego. Does he? From my standpoint, he merely seems to have exercised knee-jerk reactions to attempts to undermine the image of his team. Any proud young man would do the same.
(ii) That his keyboard opponents escape the tag of 'egotistical', and rather, are arguing for the right cause. I disagree. As Dxmxgxd has himself correctly identified, the argument is 'circle work'. In fact, that is the reason Dxmxgxd has cited for leaving the argument. Revise previous posts, Uncle Mick, and you'll find that his opponents, be they members of Hampton Rovers or not, not only played key roles in inciting the argument, but also contributed to the argument in exactly the same way as Dxmxgxd.
Unless I were to be shown evidence of Dxmxgxd being entirely unique and unparalleled in any previous ego-driven comments, of which I assure you there is none, I am led to conclude that your words have little to no credibility. Instead, you are only acting to re-incite an argument that Dxmxgxd acknowledges is redundant. In doing so, you are singling out one of the few positive contributors to this forum. Which further undermines your credibility.
So, Uncle Mick, up your joots.
