Wonder if they've improved the rain sensing wipers yet. Around 5 years ago or so many cars with them (various makes and models, same suppliers I guess) they'd be good for 8 months to a year or so and then become pretty useless at detecting rain

It's pretty funny that you're complaining about this unbelievable luxury (not having a go, this is how far technology has gotten)

Yeah indeed. But it's actually a pain in the arse because whenever there is light rain I have to manually pull the lever for a single wipe every ten seconds or whatever. It's like going backwards.

But your general point is so true. I thought remote locking was an unnecessary luxury when it came in, but on an occasion I had to manually lock and unlock a car not long ago it pissed me off a bit.

Also very very used to reverse camera and parking beeps now.

Man I'm having serious flashbacks to my parents old Nissan and having to pull over not once but twice on the Princes Fwy, to "bang" on the windscreen wiper motor to get the wipers going.

That's how primitive it got back in those days haha.

Cruise control. Bloody great.

100%

I've never had a speeding ticket since buying cars where cruise control was standard / fitted.

Not that I was a massive "speeder", but belting along the Hume for example in a manually throttled fuel injected 6 listening to music, it was pretty easy for your speed to creep up over the limit. End that's when you'd strike plod hiding behind a tree. Cruise control stops that completely

Be about 20 years since I had a speeding conviction

Hahaha yeah my wife is from Seymour and we went back to her folks place for the day on Sunday, and the Hume at 110, flick it away and you're done!

Being courteous to a random stranger and brightening their day.

Honestly I think this has been a by-product of LDs and covid.
(esp in Melbourne where in general we're massive campaigners who kept to ourselves prior)

So it wasnt all bad.

Opening a bunch of doors and windows at home and letting a soft breeze through the place. Can hear birds chirping and not much else.

Washing the car/having a clean car.

Gave it a wash on Saturday arvo (made even better by how glorious the weather was), and it's so nice just seeing the car clean after a wash.
What car do you drive?

WFH and being able to go for a run or do a workout in the sun at lunchtime.

Alas the bells are tolling to head back into the office so that dream is slowly dying.

Yeah 28 degrees yesterday and 30 degrees today - went for my run in the morning around 11am and might do the same today. Means i can go to the pool with the kids at 4pm and still get my run/walk in.
