Again all without proof, 15 million votes out of nowhere?
Shhhh! Let them keep running with that delusion still. Even though hundreds of were lawsuits thrown out, some held in front of republican appointed and deeply conservative judges, in traditionally red states. Where very much all people jailed for electoral interference were from Republican camps during that election. And the fact a fair few arrests this election, were Republicans burning ballot boxes etc. Not to forget those bomb threats in key black voter areas of Pennsylvania, seemed to have come from overseas and Russia according to intelligence agencies. You know, Donnys buddy Putin.

But nah, the post has now been moved to, that the Dems somehow doctored 15 million fake votes last election. And the original claims of it was fraud, was simply because Donny said so without any proof or substance. So his base and those around him, copied the same rhetoric and ran with it. Making up all these fake scenarios to try and back it up. Some Aussies are just as bad as American voters who "don't care about facts", they just want someone to say the stuff they want or like to believe.

Isolated Twitter posts make whole of “the left” as bad as the right?

What would the right wing care anyway? They love all that violent rhetoric.
Fox every toxic "left post", there is probably a couple hundred toxic posts from "right wing" posters. Being angry, toxic and the freedom to abuse other people seems to be a big part of their cult of personality. Venture onto any political page, X/twitter, it is there for all the world to see.

But hey, they are pretty silent when one of their own says crappy things. Only pipe up when someone on the other side says something they don't like.

I'm sorry I just don't buy it when you guys cry wolf at every turn. Even on axios who's pretty anti Trump they actually wrote the most controversial thing on the night was the Puerto Rican joke that was made.(Trump supporters at the rally didn't give him a good reception about the joke either) You do realise Trump's wife is a immigrant lol he just doesn't like mass undocumented illegal immigrants flooding in and that's not a Nazi talking point pretty much every country around the world have always had these debates/talking points. And oh wow an American first based political rally said Americans are for America oh wow how terrible. If you genuinely believe Nazis beliefs on Jews is the same as anti illegal immigration than there is no common ground for us to find and your perception is to deluded unfortunately. I bet you seriously buy into every anti Trump talking point you've ever seen or heard and never once questioned it.

Are you in favour of deporting 11 million illegal immigrants? How will that logically be done?

They do too many dog whistles to white nationalists for it to be a coincidence. But for all of our sakes, let’s hope it is.

You clearly aren’t familiar with dog whistles the republicans use or don’t care. Now I hope the worst that can happen doesn’t happen, basically I’d love for you to be right and my worst fears of a 2nd Trump term are completely unfounded.

Also a good idea not to denigrate or insult half the country. Doesn't seem to work somehow. Can't imagine why.
Worked for Trump.

lol come on, this is so disingenuous. No one is pretending its just the building - it was plonkers on the night like Stephen Miller echoing nazi language, exactly the same as Trump has done previously. "America for Americans" just one example.

Swap "immigrant" for "jew" throughout the night and the parallels were pretty stark.
Maybe use "criminal". Literally every undocumented alien/immigrant has broken the law. Should they not face repercussions for that? For a party that bangs on about law and order, it is hardly surprising they are so strong on pushing back against criminals.
Rightly or wrongly, there is a correct process to go through to become a legal migrant. Go through that and you'll have no issues living in the US. Try to dodge the process and that is where you'll run into problems.

Firstly you need to learn the difference between a typo and a spelling mistake. Because that's all you've really got to hang your hat on.
... jeez.

This is some pretty milquetoast bants, mate. Lift.
Haha. You present a survey interview of people self-declaring how they voted versus a published article drawing on the statistics of how people actually voted in the swing States that decided the election?

Got me....
Cool.

You have 24 hours to demonstrate that the statement:
Trump’s core constituency of mostly white, working-class voters in rural America showed up in force
... is a lie. A failure to do so will result in an infraction for misinformation on the SRP.

No, you just need a competent candidate.

If Biden didn't drag out his exit, democrats probably would have had time to find another candidate. The problem is that Harris was part of Bidens administration, so everything he got wrong she was tarred with.

That fact she was a woman i dont think had anything to do with it.

There were no massive swings in gender voting within the election between Biden and Trump, which generally means the fact Harris was a women had little to do with it.

Posted an article that explicitly states if women had voted only Trump loses, probably wasn't the best choice.....🤣

Gender and colour was of course an issue, how big, not sure, to suggest it wasn't it laughable.

But that is why you remove the issue and, against someone like Trump you present a more normal white man.

That’s called reading an article and only finding the answer you want…..

I saw a post for Nate Silver pointing out how unlikely it was that they were close, i actually thought it would have been called way earlier than it was ( either way)

You'd think the Democrats will have learned now that they need a white male at the next election, hopefully under 80. If I was them I'd have it in place pre Mid terms as there are a lot of seats up for grabs.

You do have to feel for Ukraine, this goes one of two ways. Trump does as most expect and gives Putin all he wants or in some weird twist he backs Ukraine and takes off the handbrakes cache see s middle.
Age clearly isn't a factor at this point. Economy and vibes, or the vibe of the economy.

Europe needs to get their ducks in a row. Once Ukraine is gone the rest of Eastern Europe could be next. If anything Trump won't be Hitler but Chamberlain.

They need a competent candidate who is firstly popular within their own party. Harris never ever was. She failed to win a single delegate in 2020 - among other Democrats. Probably a good idea to pick someone that can unite the party.

Also a good idea not to denigrate or insult half the country. Doesn't seem to work somehow. Can't imagine why.

Proper primary get dem voters invested - 100% agree.

The last part, the republicans denigrate the Dems on a daily basis. Or do you feel their denigration is more targeted to actual Democrat politicians and specific figures rather than everyone who votes for the Dems? That could be worth a discussion.

Perhaps in a perfect world Biden does as he said he would and not run again.

They didn't have a perfect world.

absolutely, i saw a funny quote which could end up being quite true.

The US is just Iran, except white.

Be interesting how true that ends up

They will quote a random left winger on twitter calling for violence but ignore hundreds of posts spouting literally nazi rhetoric.

They will explain away the Nazi rhetoric of being “that’s not trump” etc. however the lone random left winger calling for some stupid shit is apparently representative of the entire left.

No,

people who voted for Kamala have their reasons too, People who voted for Trump have their reasons too.

Respect others' opinions.

You just acting like a typical left-wing nutcase in what you are saying. You may be a great guy at heart. Not sure i called you an idiot?
Sure, they had their reasons and their issues are legitimate. Its the idea anyone would believe that Trump is focused on fixing them thats the perplexing part - but I do totally get that some of these people have been disenfranchised to the degree they just go **** it, anyone other than the people there now.

They're not really the people I'm talking about though, more the people who actually believe that kids are going to school as boys and coming home as girls (again just to pluck one example). What percentage of Trump's base would truly believe that, or any of the other batshit insane easily disprovable stuff he spruiks - 15%? 20%?

And yep not saying you called me an idiot, just paraphrasing your assessment of my approach.

Try this: its a different link to the same video

Cheers, watched it.

He identifies the economy/inflation, immigration and foreign policy as the main areas Trump won on. Thats not 'policy' or lack of from Harris;

  • as has been done to death, Biden could literally have not handled post-covid economy and inflation any better, leading among G7 countries. But people just see their groceries being more expensive than when Trump was in a vote accordingly
  • immigration, fair to say the Democrats have botched that, but again whats Trump's policy? Deport everyone isn't it, with no clue as to how that would actually be done in practice (he's been asked, and squibbed it every time)
  • foreign policy, again Democrats are bad on Israel/Gaza no mistake, but you really are in lala land if you believe any US administration is going to be different. Fair case to say Trump will be worse, "you have to finish the job"

So you've mischaracterised Tapper's take as being about 'policy' per se, and I'm happy to withdraw my labelling of him or CNN as idiots based on that.

I mean.. no I don't think Trump is literally Hitler, but you guys tend to ark up about people even mentioning that his campaign is using the same language in instances. Thats before you even get to the other weird reporting around it, "I want generals like Hitler had" etc. Are people just not supposed to note it or something?

Just the fact Stephen Miller is on his team and giving speeches is enough, do you know anything about the guy at all?

Not criminal, because technically they have not been found guilty of anything in a court of law.

Perhaps Americans shouldn't be such junkies, and financing all the problems in the countries South of them by its huge amount of illicit drug use. And perhaps the American government should stop allowing shipments of guns to places like Mexico which has super strict gun laws, that ends up in the hands of the cartels, then blame Mexico, for Americas own guns being "trafficked", back into the country. Instead of Americas own lax gun laws. Or by placing oil embargoes on a country simply because you dislike their leader and having a small part in crashing its economy. Or interfering in past elections because you want a certain leader elected that simps for them. America has a big hand in plenty of the issues south of them. If they don't want so many people fleeing corrupt and crime ridden countries, for a chance at better hope. Then perhaps they could stop being part of the problem, and start being part of the solution instead?

Oh wow and the censorship threats start. I've posted a direct quote and link to a published article in a mainstream source take it up with the author or the editor if you have a problem with it. I'll wait...

And if you think I'm actually going to go through a survey that you linked and then collate all the data, you're nuttier than squirrels poo. If you have point to make, link to it directly or STFU.

They’d be better having a process to get those illegals to citizenship, and it’s a clear dog whistle to racists.

The border was a problem before Trump, during Trump, post Trump and will be again under Trump.

The logistics of deporting 11 million people doesn’t make any sense from an economic point of view, what are they going to do? Set up detention centres? Is this really the best use of money?

Thing is the border gets flooded with a lot of people trying to come in from countries America has meddled in and ****ed over. (That isn’t partisan it’s happened regardless of who’s been in power in the US for decades)

Yeah agree with this part. They were always snookered once Biden decided he was gonna go again, by the time he was convinced to drop out there wasn't anyone else they could viably go with.

Its the biggest factor imo along with inflation/timing - the lack of proper primary from which a popular and battle tested candidate emerged. Great work Joe, hubris doesn't even begin to describe it :drunk:

**** MAGA feelings. Each and every one of them is a racist who is comfortable with a rapist and pedophile.
