Votes have started coming in across the east coast. But early US vote counts are misleading.
Large numbers of early votes and vote-by-mail ballots means that the vote count will shift as the night goes on, and votes from large, urban precincts might radically shift the count with one report.
States will be reporting totals throughout the night and it’s important to avoid the red or blue mirage.

Florida really is now a Republican stronghold. According to the NY Times, Trump won Miami-Dade County in this election. It's the first time since George Bush Sr won the County in the 1988 election that the Republicans have won that County in a Presidential election. Biden won the County in 2020 by seven percentage points. According to the NY Times, Harris hardly spent any resources on Florida, so it looks like the Democrats have all but conceded that Florida is now a red state.

They allow processing of mail-ins (opening, sig checks and getting them ready to count) prior to election day.
Republicans blocked efforts to institute this in Pennsylvania and elsewhere, both in 2020 and 2024 - watch them scream like stuck pigs as the mail vote leaning heavily to Harris gets added over the next 24 hours

This isn't really news. The Dems need to build up their infrastructure and ground level game again. Then focus on getting a popular Senate or Governor candidate to gain a foothold.

The NY Times reporting that Harris is underperforming Biden in New Hampshire and Virginia, two states that Biden won relatively comfortably in 2020. Harris is still favoured to win both States, but the margin will likely be tighter.
I always find the calling very interesting.
Illiinois has been called for Harris at 55:45 her favour with 9% reported votes, whereas Georgia remains uncalled at 55:45 Trump with over 50% of the vote in.

hahaha people are still voting RFK Jr in Illinois.
maybe elon is trump's useful idiot. hard to see him jettisoning him though given he'd parachute family into governmental roles.
what's his stance on abortion? if certain americans had what they wanted (trump) his usefulness could be done with if elon ever had to speak his mind on something like abortion. hard to imagine business interests working completely in harmony entirely with the religious rights' principles.
