Well it’s the same weird and crazy scheduling you loved last week and now you don’t, funny that. You’ll defend them when it doesn’t affect your club!
"D2 games make sense and that's the one I pay attention to because it's my division" somehow translates to "defending weird and crazy scheduling".

The scheduling for the games I pay attention to made sense last week. I said as much. The ones this week don't.

German Shephard Club got moved from Basil Reserve to allow more football there. The compromise was access to Waverley Sunday morning. There are a lot dogs with voting owners

Majority don't even live in Stonnington. Cricket and Footy Clubs have been trying to get rid of them for years.

Even when they finish early they don't let you onto the ground. Biggest pains in the arse in Melbourne.

Dog clubs & Bowls clubs have long been the nemesis of sporting clubs from local footy to the AFL

What time do they finish ? our 19s are on at 12 40 and the next game is 2 50 .
Hope they pick up the dog shit

Nice of the VAFA to schedule the Prem B at Box Hill.

Shame De La 2's at 9:20 and the seniors are at 2:10?
What’s with the VAFA scheduling?

The NFNL simply has
D1 Preston
D2 Epping
D3 Lalor

You know where you are playing when and where months out.

If your 19s are in the same division then lucky you if not then you’ll be at 2 grounds.

Why is the VAFA week by week? Do they try and scheduling close to both sides?

They have grounds pulled on them at short notice like Port Melbourne , that makes it hard , but still common sense has to prevail

Yep and also using better VFL grounds has them at the mercy of VFL finals fixtures.

But yes they still need to stick with the tried and true formula instead of these random allocations and reserves and seniors at different grounds or weird times.

Don’t know what happened to the simple:

Either 3 U/19s or 3 women’s games at one venue or
Women’s/19s at 9.20, Reserves at 11.40 and Seniors at 2.00

This 2 Senior games back to back or reserves at 9.20 followed by another reserves game at 11.40 followed by seniors from the 9.20 reserves grade is just weird.

Maybe need to review finals model with less and less gated grounds available . Maybe sell a weekend of finals to a non gated vafa club and they get money from bar / canteen
Particularly on early finals
Plenty of good vafa grounds WITH 4 change rooms than can cater for men and women’s teams on same day
Venues such as DLS and Brighton don’t.

Bar? Are they able to sell beers during finals

I’m still amazed that twenty plus years on from this being an issue at the local junior club (footy and cricket) that this is still an issue in the great suburb that is postcode 3145!

Let the kids (men and women too) play footy and cricket!

FWIW why doesn't Parkdale get used anymore? Thought they had enough fences.
Not sure how Hadfield will be all fenced off but will wait and see.

VAFA booked Port Melbourne for 4 weeks and then were told they couldn't have it after the weekend and low and behold the Coates Talent League finals are there , AFL paying more no doubt . It's a shame as it's a great venue , surface and facilities
AFL had it booked first as a reserve ground, along with Box Hill. They only need one of them and chose the more central Port Melbourne. It’s a win for the VAFA as Box Hill is in better condition.

They have more power than any of the sporting clubs in the area. Connections with the police force in caring for ex-service dogs is believed to be the major influence with council.

Can't see anything changing in the forceable future.

Absolute joke that Wesley 19s were dropped into this grade during the season , all top age and over .
