We've had a few retirements this year:

Hodge,
Watson,
Murphy,
Briza,
the De La guy,
Canada.
List goes on.

Can’t say I miss the BS from BS but AM and Rooster (the De La guy) were 2 of the better contributors. Rooster has been absent pretty much all season and AM for a while now also. Any idea why Canada got carded and then decided to depart? While the Maplebet stuff was very tired I actually liked what he contributed and found him quite amusing.

Story this year has been the drop off of last year’s grand finalists. The 2016 premiers added even more talent but have not given a yelp in the 2nd half of the year. An extraordinary decision to replace a premiership coach has backfired in spectacular fashion. The Ts kept a talented list pretty much intact but until the last fortnight have shown little. Will Josh Gibson get on board and take them to another level next season?

Have also been disappointed in the efforts of SBMT over the last month who have pretty much hoisted the white flag. Same can’t be said for Blacks who despite losing a heap of close games have fought like made to stay up.

I miss AM and Rooster and BS for the debate it caused.

So was the Canuck pushed or did he jump? There will be a lot less volume on the board with him and BS no more.

Old Xavs have soiled their bedding in the latter half of this year. There should be some soul searching over the summer. Off the back of a Crocs premiership and becoming the club's first 300 gamer, maybe the 46 year old Dave Landrigan will return to the seniors next year? Maybe the return of Old Scotch next year (and the free 8 points they annually provide to Old Xavs) will provide some help?

Still can't see anyone beating Skobs, except themselves.

A touch disappointed that nobody missed me!

With Round 18 done and dusted and finals a week away where is the footy talk?

Blacks did everything they could but couldn't get it done. I think a few teams will be happy they dont have to do the Uni Double in 2018.

SKOB hard to read at the moment. Smashings, a defeat and a close one over the last month. Surely they couldn't be like the SKOB of old?

Wesley have fallen in a heap.

Word is some spud at training kicked Viv Michie in the hand and broke it - out for season? Didn't play on the weekend.. are the rumours true.
Lachie Ferg hasn't played in months - do they risk his ankle coming into finals? Will he play. Post ACL and Kyle Emley went off on the weekend with a busted up ankle. Broken?
Going to be a very interesting game this week in the Elimination Final against De La Salle. They aren't in the greatest of form winning only 1 of the last 4 against DLS and that wasn't very convincing.

The Dees were unlucky on the weekend. Had a look at the tape today ater a mate told me of a dodgy call. Umpires missed a 3rd (by the rule book)man up in the ruck call which allowed the Blues to get it to Geappon who sealed the win. The Blues have Harper and Taylor to come back in but are looking healthy to attack SKOb. They only beat them recently.

The Dees were without Tutt and Humphrey on the weekend and almost got over the line. They'll definitely add to the team for Week 1 of the finals. If the can get there game going who knows what they can do.

Xavs don't lose many in a row and smashed Colls. Shame they have't found that fight all year. Will be interesting to see how OX rejuvinate after a tough year and some retirements.

What about OT's late ressurgence and poor Beauy. If only they had of found a couple more wins. St Bedes lucky to hang on and are going to need some huge talent injections in 2018 to stay up for the following yeat I reckon.

Is Trinity done? New coach will come in.. whats the plan? Great venue and huge deck I wnder if they bcome a more free wheeling team.

Poor OM's hit the skids after being in great form. To finish the Season with 2 losses is very dissapointing.

Week 1

SKOB vs BLUES

I think that SKOB will be too good this week and book a place in the dance. Mind you the blues gave them a massive touch up only recently. Who knows but should be a cracking game.

DLS VS COLLEGIANS

This is going to be a ripper. I don't think I really gave the Dees much of a chance this year to get to September but they have proven me wrong and Collegians have limped in. I am not certain on the result but if recent form is the way to go then DLS have to go in with confidence.

Going to be a fantastic Final series and exciting to note that over the last 2 years 8 teams have played Premier Finals - A testament to the strength of the competition.

Lets start talking footy.
