Any wash up of the OX game? Anyone get there to see it? Love to hear some opinion.

Quite an extraordinary score line in the scheme of things...

I did head down to the varsity to see the Blues put on their family day. The who's who of the blues past 20 years, although the big Ruckman wasn't sighted.

It was a big day for the blue boys who were dominant from the outset. They were too quick and moved the ball fast up and down the quick deck infront of the Pavvy.

Xavs will say they were beaten by a better team on the day, which was absolutely the case. That's what happens when 22 blokes take on another 22 blokes. The better team of 22 blokes generally take home the chocolates. Which was the case on Saturday.

But Xavs, only 4 goals!! Sure there 6 in the forward half turned up???

PS Both SKOBS and Collegians played with over 40 points this week.
Maxwell, my reckoning is that Wesley had 37 of their allowable 48 points and St KAFL had 40 of their allowable 48 points.

St KAFL is really going to test the allowable points when they get their 1sts on the park.
Hello All, Have to question whether the game was that physical...Bit of niggle, few big bumps but didn't think there was anything over the top (couple of suspension maybe..hard to judge)....Collegians far too good. very slick and clean in the conditions. Super impressive. Their backline was great....particularly given the missing players. SKOB need to regroup and have another crack...twelve rounds to go so I'm sure they wont be at the panic button just yet. Could I add a comment re injured / unavailable players. I am always keen to hear who was missing (dont know the side too well) but whenever anyone post it they get howled down as excuses makers. I would have thought actual information posted on this forum would be welcomed. It provides some relief from the player XX is getting 100K to play ammos stuff.

M.I.O, I think it's best to suck it up when a team gets done, especially if it's done like a dinner. Also, I reckon when someone goes further by saying half of the best 22 weren't playing you just invite incoming.

Humble in victory and gracious in defeat.

Enjoyed reading your take on the game. Btw, did you have any trouble finding a parking spot in the vicinity

Uber in for me....I probably wasnt the only person having a post match drink. Albeit not at the Trott. Sorry Collegians. I get the whole noble ideal but the posters on this site aren't the actual club. If Ben Dowd is complaining about missing players its one thing. If a poster on this site is providing some information its another. I just find it interesting and informative; wish more people would do it.

Not sure you've picked a good example to make your point there, m.i.o. Ben's a class act. The last thing he would do is attempt to diminish an opposition clubs performance with excuses I'd suggest. Particularly ones that really haven't passed muster. Just think it's not a good look. So we'll agree to disagree on this one.

Never used Uber. How was the experience?

No doubt; Ben would never complain just drawing a distinction.

I was also at the game and if the VAFA put Collegians team on the park as the State team, plus an additional ruckman (for back up), they would win.

PS I bet some VAFA officials would turn up to that game.

Max "SKOBS weren't that bad, but Collegians were that good" Leader
that is some kind of recommendation mr leader.

perhaps a little over the top even taking into account as good as collegians are from the comments here.

NI, A fair bit of "tongue in cheek there" I feel. They were good on the night, they are very well coached and yes they will be around the pointy end
of the season come the Finals. Lets just leave it at that...

mentone over the grammar.

trinitonians over the scholarly blues.

st kevins/afl2s on a cake walk over the scholarly blacks.

the best run club easily over the sharks.

the purples comfortably over the bellers.

OM over Bedes.
UB over OT.
Skobs over UB.
OX cant lose against Beauy. (sack the Coach if they do).
Coll over De La. (be very close, second only to Brindisi St to win at).

Anyone get a load of the most recent VAFA tragics? A couple of the panellists were asked to nominate their 3 automatic selections for the VAFA team. Nick Armistead’s were acceptable but Brenton (?) Mann nominated Forato from DLS as one of his 3 certs. He is not even the first-choice ruckmen at this club at the moment! Perhaps he has been injured but he has been thoroughly underwhelming since 2015 and very quiet in the few games he has played this year.

I am sure this is volunteer gig and the show is generally fun and informative but surely if you are going to comment on Premier section it would help to have at least a basic knowledge of the players, particuarly those who might be in the elite class.

Harsh JJ. The lad has been injured this year and probably like many before him has struggled with the concept of training with a VFL club but playing mainly with a VAFA club. Still an important player but automatic selection in the VAFA team? I would think not and several others have much stronger claims.

It only took one loss and he left the building. Possibly a bit weak, but I already miss Briza. There, I said it.

If you are lurking out there big fella, don't be afraid to return. Skobs will win again soon.

Especially when they get the 47 back, that are out injured or on hols.............

Maybe he's been dealt with under SKOB's code of conduct, which they appear to have needed to promote on their website after Saturday night's game against Collegians. I would suggest that one or two 'unhappy' supporters has prompted this.

edit: having said that, supporters were vocal on both sides on Saturday night. Codes of conduct are probably a good reminder to all to behave whilst watching this great game.

Think you'll find me ol' mucker has been sent to the naughty corner, presumably for some indiscretion or other so it's a bit hard for him to participate as we speak.

I'm sure he'll be back in one form or another at some point as it's not the first time he's had a bit of a tanty.

A couple of ripper games this week. Old Trinity v Blues and St Bedes v O.Ms the stand outs. Wouldn't be surprised if the Bellers give Collegians a bit of a workout too.

Yes, certainly seems there has been a few feathers ruffled in relation to SKOBS both on and off the field after Saturday. As well as on here.
A timely reminder to always promote your club positively.
Interesting times...

Interesting.
Let's hope the old Briza is doing a lot internally for the Club because IMO externally many of his posts are an embarrassment.
I don't care what the old boy does for his club. It is what he does for this forum. If I am honest with myself, my first thought when I see a skobs result is how will Briza react? He has become part of my life! My God, what have I become?

I would be. Collegians are the best side in it by a fair way atm. Last week was a train wreck for DLS and the 3 goal final margin flattered us. Two players short by ¼ time and our depth (which is not great) will be further exposed this week. No excuses as you play with what you have but reality is we have fewer capable of playing at this standard then most other teams. On the bright side our 19s are travelling well and I expect more youngsters will get a chance in coming weeks.

you really need to get a life mr sideswipe.:D

back to football. blacks are heading for relegation, does anyone know what are the reasons for the fall this year?
