Winner of the SKOB v Collegians game salutes again next week and will face Blues in the GF. Each of the 4 finals will be a toss of the coin.

If Blues don't win it this year with the team they have assembled they never will as I am hearing that the university player points qualification (fiasco) will be considerably tightened next year.

Top 4 H&A record v other finalists....
Blues 4-2
SKOB 4-2
Xavs 2-4
Coll 2-4

This is going to be a great weekend of Ammo Footy!!!!

Managed to catch the UNIAFL v OXAFL match today. Wow. What a contest, epitomised finals footy. Both teams will be sore tomorrow. The X Men had an unbelievable third quarter into the wind to set themselves up but missed crucial chances in the last that cost dearly. Josh Green’s only kick for the day was the sealer up the scoreboard end, and Ayce Cordy was hardly seen. Winner of next week will take the Flag I reckon. Amazing young Stavrou isn’t a shoe in for VFL every week. Absolute star. First final did not disappoint and I’m sure tomorrow won’t either.

Expected a little more fight from Collegians yesterday considering the heartache SKOB has caused them in recent years, but it was all SKOB from the first bounce, adjusting very well to the poor conditions and they never really looked like losing. It has set up what should be a great clash this Sunday against Old Xavs. And whilst it was a terrible day to watch footy yesterday all over Melbourne, isn't Elstenwick Park in a sad state. With the most pointless new build to watch footy complete, they seem to have just given up on making the place slightly appealing for visitors. VAFA HQ need to have a bit of self-respect, less junkets and fix up your premier home deck, the outer wing is an eye-sore in particular.

Glad I'm not the only one who thought that... it was pretty bloody cheerless to be honest, and when it rained the only place you could be dry and see the whole oval was the steps in front of the VAFAUA rooms.

Yes a fellow supporter sitting in the old grandstand to avoid the rain told me they had to move as you can't see the forward half at one end of the ground

Anyone giving Old Xavs a chance this Sunday? Hard to believe SKOB could have Andrews, Kemp, Sullivan, G Gleeson, Arnot, Adducci and Phillips into that side. Wallis doesn’t qualify as well. Sheesh! X Men will have big Jason Holmes back running around on the bright side.

Maybe too many players (as talented as they may be) who haven’t been playing for SKOB for most of the season.

I’ll back the more settled side.

Xavs to book a second crack at Blues

I'm a firm believer in whoever wins this Sunday will go all the way, and have to agree that the X-Men will pull off the victory (an upset imo).

My congrats to Skobs for last Sundays performance. To big, to skilled, to fast and just to good...Well done. Now this weekend, Skobs
again...Xavs start slow (in both last games with Colls they were 5 -6 goals down at half time), they cant afford to do this against Skobs.
Waite will kick 6, Handley 1. That is a game breaker.....Will be a "cracker' though.
Who ever designed that stand at Elst should be sacked, never to work again..

I was there a couple of weekends ago on the rainy Sunday. Awful. Hardly any cover. All supporters were huddled under the cantilevered second storey of the main building, some of which you can't use because there are metal screens in the way. Those that couldn't get a spot were forced to take refuge in the decrepit "grandstand" conveniently located 25m back from the boundary line. You would've thought some kind of covered terrace would've been considered?

cracking day coming up on Sunday. 21 and showers. Xavs V Skobs in the 1's and 2's.

Holmes back for the Xavs, Olsson and Alex Browne? The run last week had to be beneficial for Hams, Margin and Bewick.

Skobs get Sullivan and how many others.

Having watched both games between the two teams this year Xavs got belted around the ball in a windy day with the bog heap in the middle at Skobs. Xavs win was probably too early in the season to be relevant.

Holmes will be crucial in winning those centre clearances this week. If Plugger dominates like he did in the mud Skobs will be too good. If Xavs let Chritchley do as he please they will be in trouble as well.

Should be a cracking game. Cant pick it

Never to work again? Are you implying that someone got paid for that design?

I know I’ve said this before, but if the VAFA wants to have another end-of-season representative schedule, instead of going halfway around the world to Ireland, they should plan for three games to be played in the Northern Territory, just before the start of the NTFL season.

A likely program would be as follows-

GAME 1 VAFA (Under 23) v NTFL (Under 18)-Alice Springs

GAME 2 VAFA (Premier B-Division 4) v NT Thunder-Darwin

GAME 3 VAFA (Senior) v NTFL-Darwin

I’d go as far to say weather permitting, next week will be the best game of VAFA footy we’ve ever seen. Perhaps even local footy period. Such a shame about the location, but footy will prevail. Xavs valiant but SKOB just too strong and classy today. Number 46 for SKOB should look himself in the mirror hard after bumping a Xav player to the ground when he was was leaving the hands of trainers after a possible concussion.

Early tip: SKOB by 11 points, Sullivan BOG.

Xavs out in straight sets... ouch!

This was supposed to be their best team for some years and i didnt think they were valiant at all.. didnt give a yelp after half time.

Handley, sadly, a total non event today whilst at the other end, Waite was rampant.

Geez I look forward to watching SKOB, a champion team, absolutely wipe the floor next week with that arrogant bunch on cheating pretenders from Uni Blues...Kanakis, Critchley, Wood, Sullivan, Waite and Brown are the best bunch of big game players we have seen in this competition in one side since those players Xavs had during the six peat in the late 90s....Blues will get what they deserve on Sunday and add another failed season to the most over rated resume in A Grade...
