We need to organise a practice match of some sort against an eliminated finalist. Box Hill, Sydney, GWS etc.
Would benefit both clubs participating to keep guys sharp for the rest of AFL finals.

If we don't then I feel Hawkins, Guthrie, SDK, Rohan and Knevitt will find it hard from here.

Clubs dont tend to really do practice matches like in the covid years but i like the idea.

Wouldn't think Knevitt in the AFL mix regardless

Are you worried about Clarke? Or still confident he'll make it at afl level

No i like clarks ball winning and decision making. He just needs time to build more endurance thats holding him back. Will definitely make it.

The vfl team still has some good talent. Clark and osullivan look very likely. Wiltshires miss was horrible but hes done some decent things. Knevitt is really taking a step forward and needs to play afl next year. Clohesy has improved rapidly.
I like all of Clark, O'Sullivan, Clohesy and Knevitt. The first three all have plenty of growth left in them, and it feels like Knevitt just needs an easy kill at AFL level to boost his confidence. He's got that wiry build that will take plenty of time to fill out so maybe that's why he gets shunted out to the wing at AFL level - would like to see him get a full AFL game in the guts against a young team.

Any chance of Dan Caprion getting promoted?
There are come worse players on the list

Going to be harsh but I like Clohesy. For first round picks Clarke and O Sullivan are underwhelming, to say the least. Willis, Wiltshire, Murdoch and Stevens don't look like prospects to persist with. Going to be tempting to play De koning with his ability and size I think you try to get him in somewhere but Stanley looks like he isn't going anywhere.

No way am I taking Bews, Mullin or Tuohy over Guthrie who has played a full VFL game followed by 2 weeks of full training.

The only question to me is whether he can play a full game. Probably not so I'd have him sub and into the 22 for a grand final if we make it.

Disagree.

He simply doesn't have the fitness and conditioning through game time to be risked in a high pressure final imo.

That's the spirit, onward and upward.

No more VFL this year, watch our boys get around their AFL mates.

Im disappointed by today as we should have won the way we butchered inside 50s.
But its been a good year. We have found a few players albeit depth will be an issue next year with afl retirements. But our development coaching is good.

If we're playing Sydney, does Bews get the job on Papley?

Thinking Jed may not lose his spot now we're in the finals

People are overthinking it. Bews has played not many games this year for a reason. Despite papley hes the obvious out with stewart coming back.

Hawk moved well and had the most God awful delivery of his career, which says a lot considering we kicked the ball exclusively at his ankles for periods of his time... But I still don't see Neale coming out, he's done nothing well and the fwd line is balanced and humming.
Hawk in the wings in case of injury/suspension is all I can see

Mullin is likely already out of the team for Stewart anyway, so doubt Guthrie will be replacing him

If Bews is selected it'll be too so a specific job, such as on Rioli on Thursday or maybe Papley - I wouldn't be selected Guthrie for that type of role ahead of Jed

If it was between Tuohy or Guthrie for sub, then I could see a bit more discussion but after today I'd be clearly leaning towards Tuohy. Guthrie has done some good things, but he also looks off the pace and struggled when the tempo went up as he just didn't have that next gear to go to at the moment

We could have him purely focusing on getting run into his legs over the next fortnight, but that's not going to be close to replicating the match conditioning that he needs

Watching him today, it's an easy pass on Cam for the finals series from me
