We seem to be losing everyone
Generally vfl there is a list turnover, but feels more than most years atm
If this is true, then this makes it 8 that we know about. In a list of 25-30 thats a lot.
But if you add those that were on the vfl list at the start of the year and have been put on afl lists or left (silvani) that makes it 11

I don’t mind it but we’d better be balls deep into a couple of top end VFL types to cover some of those we’ve lost.

I think we'll be an attractive destination for recently delisted and those still chasing AFL.

We've taken a few vfl recently - MSD and SSP and are likely to again next year.

Considering how our VFL team played this year, I would have thought it was a good thing that quite a few of them are leaving 🤣
Exactly what I've been saying. The team has mostly been crap for ages, I'm not really crying about any of the guys who left - It's not like we're losing guys that are then getting draft or SSP attention.

So my question is. Is there any VFL players left? Is it us letting them go or are they all deserting a sinking ship?
It’s got beyond a joke.
Its more than ive seen in years in one go. Unsure whose decision. I imagine the ones we have heard of -- the young ones left for more opportunity, so their choice.
Lane? I can't imagine we woudn't have wanted him to go, but seems he is retiring from vfl, which is bizarre after a good season he has and still young. But maybe got more job opportunities.

Preseason starts next week so I'll keep an eye out who is left.

The problem with VFL players on an AFL teams list is they are hoping to get noticed and when they don’t local and country footy comes calling with a bigger pay check. Can’t say I blame them either, unless you’re a rabid fan of the club and playing footy for us is your dream even if it’s VFL I’d be playing for the best paying club too.

In hutchy's case, you can still get noticed if you show enough even when the team isn't doing so well.

Could we see the 3 NGA Boys we did not Nominate come into the VFL List for 2025?
They seem to do that. Ashwin and Voulanas were on the vfl list for a bit, and given our nga prospects are still eligible for next year, we'll vfl list them and they can play CTL as an overager.

I don't even know who he is, it was just a general statement that we are losing a lot of players
It's an irrelevant point when a mediocre player is not brought back to play. It would only ever be relevant if that player was either good or played a significant part in our VFL team in 2024.

Players like Hartmann come and go every year - There's nothing remarkable about an exit like that. There are unusual exits happening within the program, but it might just be down to an overdue purging of the same old guys.

It's the VFL, are you expecting ablett or Carey to be playing for our VFL side. We've turned over half the list. That's the only point here. Not even sure what you're point is. The point is that good players are going to other clubs or the country and suburban leagues. That's my only concern.

A lot of them leave VFL when they give up on the idea of AFL. They're better playing in other leagues where they're going to be paid more and not going to be shunted around to suit the development of a kid.

I'd love to see us use the VFL more to develop the types of players we need, maybe even commit to using one rookie spot, either mid-season, SSP or rookie each year as an incentive. If players were aware there was a guaranteed spot, I think we would attract those hungry enough to have a real crack at it.
