Yes, during season WA sides sometimes have compromised recovery (as do other teams who may cop a 5 or 6 day break).

In 2018 and 2015, WC player preparation for the GF was to play just 2 games in a month and didnt leave WA at all. If they have sat at home for a month a bit rich to claim "travel fatigue" as a factor in GF....but WC fans think playing in Alice Springs is a disadvantage to them, so not surprised.

I dont know what the poster you quoted was complaining about.

Eagles in 2018 made top 2. Narrowly survived magpies in that qualifying final, had a week off.

Won that home preliminary final vs the demons. Mind you eagles had that game won at half time. Eagles were in relaxed mode in the 2nd half. The eagles didn't want any more injuries as Nic Nat and Sheppard was both injured.

Then eagles did just enough to win the 2018 flag.

Just curious what would of happened in that 2019 season had the eagles won vs the tigers late in that season rather than lose by 6 points. It didn't kill off the eagles season, but it knocked the wind off their sails. Eagles the were mentally tired, hence why they lost the next week to the hawks in Perth in the final round.

Eagles won the flag in 2018 getting top 2 and traveling less.

Eagles crashed out in the 2019 semi final because the travel burden hurt and they were mentally stuffed.

On one of large Melbourne FM radio stations - Nova or Fox (can't remember which one) yesterday morning the guy talking said "well we have to go for Geelong don't we, because they are a Victorian team". This was 2 minutes before Lachie Neale came on the show for an interview

Interesting as zero of my friends and family wanted Geelong to win v Brisbane, so Nova not really representative of anything.

Best way to ensure a Victorian side can't win the flag is to make sure none of them make the Grand Final. First time since 2006 no Victorian side has been in the Grand Final.

Nice to hear this. Been over due. I guess it goes by every 6 years....

2006: swans vs eagles .

2012: swans beat hawks

2018: Eagles beat magpies.

2024: swans vs Brisbane.

I had a feeling it was gonna be 2 non Vic sides in it in 2024.

But I originally thought it was gonna be Port vs swans or GWS.

Turns out to be a different outcome

It's weird how interstate supporters have this us against Vic thing.

Victorians would rather an interstate side win one as it's pretty unlikely to come across a Brisbane or Swans supporter at work banging on like a Geelong, Tiger or Pie supporter would.
The media will no doubt make it a Roy boy v south thing this week which will be pretty cringe.
