These people obviously weren’t at the game last night. 51,000 people cheered whenever Dusty got the ball and there weren’t just Richmond supporters in the stands.

I agree. Always rated him. But the Harry O comparison wasn't in regards to his defending. As I said, it was their propensity to get the ball at half back, run 20-30 meters, run themselves into trouble and do the 50 meter dump kick downfield that results in a direct turnover.

Has gotten a LOT better at that over the past couple of years but is still prone to do it from time to time. Caracella will help fix that as it is just as much on team structure and midfield jolding patterns as it is on Saad's decision making too.

Yep , I call him Sideways Saad . He has the jets just not the smarts , IMO.

All the Dusty hate for me is good example of the nature of Aussie sports culture. We love a battler who comes good a la Nathan Lyon in Cricket, but people can’t handle a truly dominant champion consistently at the top of his game without feeling threatened by it, and needing to resort to tearing him down.

Happens all the time. It seems once they are great we have to tear them down, and then if they become great again in the face of all that they become revered legends forever.

Lol true but there really didn’t seem to be any hostility for him at the game. There was some for Cotchin from people around me, especially when he accidentally got into the back of, was it Breust? But it was a different story with Dusty.

So I’m surprised there were boos when he won best on ground. I was in the toilet so I didn’t hear them but people assure me there were.
