Hey Vossy get the players to play like that every week and i'd be happy for you to keep your job. Well done. Good to see the players play with a bit of heart.

I don't know if it was Voss or was it the jumper? Either way, I sure am looking forward to flying up to Brisbane next weekend for the game against Carlton. I think we should let Vossie coach that one too. ;)

Suspect it was rabbit stew cooked by my dear departed nan that turned me into a vegetarian!:p
My dear old Dad could make rabbit taste like chicken. Best rabbit chef in Australia.

Why not just get chicken?
Because we couldnt afford it love.
We were poor.
My dad.grew .trapped. or shot our food. Bless him. People think life is tough now. They have no idea. No pension or sickness benefits back in those days. It was you who brought up the rabbits. :pYou got my memories going. :)

My money is on the jumper.

Yes, I know, I was just having a little joke.

We went rabbit shooting growing up, too. Was never a great fan of eating it though.

And, for those who don't know, until more recent times chicken was prohibitively expensive.

Before I forget, Congrats to our coach.

As much as he tries to divert all credit to playing group, Voss deserves all the plaudits for keep perservering his game plan. Just shows his doggedness at what he believes in, regardless of outside opinion and media group think.

He could thumb his nose at all critics, put this win up with a " told ya muppets ".

Bring on Carltank.

Been there done that Ceebee (as a kid), and evey time i go to a "fancy restaurant" and see rabbit on the menu it makes me laugh. I keep thinking how many rabbit stews i had a a kid!

My money is on Vossy.

After hearing the comments by Moloney and Browny on Thursday I have no doubt the players were out to make a big statement in support of Vossy.

I'd say the jumper was more like icing on the cake. Simon spoke about it before the game re what it means to him - would have loved to have seen that but I still reckon they were mainly inspired by a desire to shut up the Voss haters. And by a general desire to win of course!

Boy I was impressed with our game plan on Saturday. We choked their supply from the back half incredibly effectively. The coaching staff had clearly done their homework. I couldn't count how many times Essendon would stream forward, full steam ahead then stop and handpass/kick backwards.

Was great to see. Loved how we set up defensive side at stoppages. If Leuey won the tap we would have two players waiting to clear the ball and if it went the other way we had our zone set up perfectly so they would have to keep hand passing backwards until an option presented. Would usually result with them kicking it under pressure and we'd get possession back. If we can play like that every week, look out.

Something that may be of interest - Voss got a hell of a lot of support from Lions members / supporters at the ground after the win. That might not mean much in the scheme of things - but I think it does show that the poll in the Courier-Mail doesn't accurately reflect the views of regular Lions supporters. Not that I am saying all regular supporters are Voss groupies either - but in general there is still plenty of good-will around wanting Voss to succeed.
