Swan Districts claimed the 2023 WAFL Reserves' Grand Final this morning, knocking over West Perth by three points in what was a very entertaining contest, 7.15 (57) to 8.6 (54). Swans' Benjamin Hewett collected 20 disposals and kicked two goals to be named the Merv McIntosh Medalist for best on ground. Swan Districts' Reserves premiership is the club's first Reserves' flag since 2006 and their fifth overall with coach Greg Harding now adding a Reserves flag to the Colts premiership he won previously the club along with coaching Swans' League side for seven seasons.

Former West Coast Eagle Mark Hutchings had 19 disposals for West Perth while previously listed West Coast Eagles players William Collins and Category B rookie Tarir Bayok had 16 disposals and 14 disposals respectively for Swan Districts.

Claremont has won the 2023 WAFL Colts Grand Final after another entertaining match earlier this afternoon. Claremont had the better of their opponent Perth during the second and third terms but a rather calamitous last quarter saw the Tigers' go scoreless and Perth waste several opportunities in what was a close finish. In the end, the Tigers got home by 11 points to claim their 17th Colts premiership with ruckman Zane Zakostelsky being awarded with Mel Whinnen Medal for best on ground.

Daniel Curtin claimed 23 disposals for the Tigers, a performance likely to have been watched closely by recruiters with the AFL Draft to take place in a couple of months' time.

First time I’ve seen him play but can see why Tom Joyce was on Brisbane’s list for a while and he was a Covid top up.

Bit agricultural but finds the footy and is pretty hard at it. Shame he couldn’t shake that ankle injury last year might have been half a chance at AFL level.
