This is a sensitive area for some. With that in mind, I'm going to remind a few posters a few things:
  • personal attacks are against forum rules. From this point, any attacks that are directed at another poster will be treated with a warning, then infractions and threadbans if it continues.
  • the spread of misinformation is also against the rules. This is taken very seriously by moderation, and you will be asked to support your opinion from time to time. If you cannot satisfy this, you will be provided an opportunity to retract your post; if you do not, you will receive an infraction and a threadban on that basis.
This is a forum for adults, and I'd appreciate you all treating each other appropriately.

Don't fear. This will make all the difference.

Zhuravlyov had only had the role for 17 days.

The previous commander before Zhuravlyov lasted only 15 days. But guess who it was?

Yep, Berdnikov who is now back in the role. Bloody merry go round.

Well I guess they should count themselves lucky. If this was in soviet times they’d all be shot

See? What's going on at Essendon is totally normal and not that out of perspective from how other organizations manage their leadership

an old time Soviet favourite of Stalin

Couldnt resist The Urge to Purge

Also the corruption within the Russian military to line the Generals and military contractors pockets meant their equipment being in poor quality and poor condition.
The only parts of the Russian military I'd have any confidence of their capabilities are their submarine forces and nuclear forces. They are a) the most professional, b) given where / how they are made, it's harder to skim parts or do things like dodgy clothing, c) given what they are, there isn't a market for the parts they can easily be flogged off to and d) most importantly they are Putin's pet areas. If I was a Russian general / colonel wanting to skim off the side, they'd be the one's I wouldn't risk doing, because of the extra attention they get from Putin.

Russia officially booted from ICAO falling 6 votes short of remaining:

The first member ever in the history of ICAO to be voted out.

Russian aviation is truly up shit creek. Even their allies who are ICAO members will be obliged to ban Russian aircraft from their airspace or risk themselves being removed from ICAO.

Its domestic flights only for Vlad with no officially certified aircraft.

Whoever the poster was that reckoned Russia's reputation had not suffered must have his/her head in their hands right now.

Russia is sabre-rattling again, this time to try and scare/convince the US to stop supplying Ukraine with weapons. They're suggesting the possibility of a direct conflict, bit if it somehow avoids going nuclear, the Americans won't be scared by this, surely? In terms of equipment, logistics and training, the Americans would crush Russia, based on current evidence.

You're told you have to leave your job. You're in the Russian Army now.
There's no certainty you'll ever get paid regularly.
Meanwhile all your monthly and weekly bills are going unpaid and your family can't buy groceries.
And there's a good chance you're going to die in a war you don't believe in.
What an incredible situation to be suddenly thrown into.

Quite simply - Russia would be obliterated with a nuclear exchange.
They gave up a lot of territory during the dismantling of the USSR where nuclear missile silo's were held.
NATO and the US did not.
Russia would simply not survive.
