Maybe Brazil is right and people should be beheaded over the footy. Would be brutal but it’d get the point across.

Where's all the talk about how much we owe Warren Tredrea and should respect him for what he's done for Port? A bloke that actually gave everything for the club?

Nah let's just run attacks on him because he made a two word comment on a radio station...

At the risk of being accused of misreading the situation I think Tredders is backing away from a reaction he gave on the spur of the moment.

This morning's press reports that a caller rang 5AA and slammed Ken Hinkley and basically called him a fraud and a con man. The caller also said that Josh Carr should be given a go at coaching the side for the rest of the season. Warren Tredrea responded with 'good call'. For all intent and purpose that implies that Tredders agreed with the caller.

Now, having given the matter some thought, Tredders has backed away from his endorsement of the anti Hinkley comments and is trying to tell us that his good call comment has been misinterpreted. Tredders cannot have it both ways as he either agrees with the anti Hinkley comments or he doesn't.

As I see it no one is attacking Warren Tredrea over his comment but many are asking for clarification.

Rucci goes with untenable looking at scenarios. Crickets.

It was a good call on FORM.

If everyone communicated as that guy did, it would be best for all — regardless of the content.

Period

Nah, this is purely hit job number 1 by the Hinkley racket.

Do we really think Tredrea would be that dumb to listen to a caller absolutely tee off at the club, slander Ken, slander Koch and then finish up on live radio saying good call I agree?

He's been very diplomatic all the way through, has barely put a foot wrong.

He clarified before FC went to air and they still ran with it........it's purely a hit job in defence of Ken.

Look who's going hard, Caro, Kane, Slobbo.....all huge stinkley apologists.

It's pathetic but we can see right through their angle

So Kane, Gerard, Robbo don't expose Ken, Or even David Koch to any scrutiny

Rather instead they blame the players, (unwilling to declare the coaches role in how the players are performing)

They then tee off on the clubs supporters for daring to boo their darling Ken. We insult the decency of football and sport apparently. No effort to enquire or discuss_why_ the King suffering members and fans did that

We then have Kane Cornes repeating the nonsensical red herring that all of the supporters expect unrealistic success all of the time on the back of decades old SANFL performance. Something Kane knows is an untruth

We then have Caroline Wilson (?) bizarrely go after Josh Carr, that he is as guilty as Ken for the poor performance.

Then 9 footy classified deceives viewers by neglecting to mention Tredreas same night walk back

Then Robbo goes on an unhinged rant against Tredrea of a trifecta of "s" words. Id be curious if he referred to James Hird or anyone at Essendon during its drug saga, or during the recent drug testing scandal BTW.

So Gerard, Kane, Caroline, Robbo and their respective programs have all gone deep against everyone here......except Ken Himkley. Who they can only heap glowing praise on.

Whatever is going on here, it lacks objectivity and honesty and it is very clearly deliberately grubby and personal. And this is just what we see.

If we don't think Ken, Koch and Richardson are fighting with their barbs behind the scenes we would be naive.

Full credit to WGT. Clearly last night was an attack to force him off the board, something I hope these charlatand are not grubby enough to extending to drawing attention to other aspects of his personal life. Sadly, I'm sure the media will.

When this eventually ends and the shit stain trifecta is behind us, I hope the names of at least 2 of these are blotted out or covered on our record boards at the club

I've worked for enough listed boards to have seen and used this playbook. 100% they've called in the troops and using every diversion they can, players, fans, assistant coaches, tredrea

100% this is orchestrated. Probably not using a crisis management consultant, but Ch9 and AFL360 are not doing their part without repeated communication from Alberton HQ

It was a mistake from Warren to say "good call". Exactly what he meant doesn't matter. Those words are only going to be taken one way in light of his previous comments.

It just goes to show how careful he's had to be all year. People have criticised him for going soft on Hinkley but he just can't say anything anymore. This is literally the whole concept of 'having the full support of the board'. You publicly have everyone's support until the moment they sack you.

We all know Tredders did agree with the caller, regardless of what he meant to come across with his reaction.

However as an outnumbered voice on a non-representative board with views out of step with the membership, throwing the odd bone of semi controversy out in the public domain is one of the legitimate weapons available. Whether that's what happened here or not, who cares, the heats been turned up and its obvious this thing will only be resolved through public opinion, not behind closed doors.

It's disgraceful how Port treats its only AFL premiership captain, who fought his way onto the board, despite their best efforts against it, to try and make a difference.

Meanwhile they're ready to sacrifice whatever it costs to protect a self-invested coach who keeps breaking records for lack of success after 12 years.

His football gameplan is rubbish, but off the field Ken truly is a master of controlling the narrative, both inside and outside the club.

I don't know if was Warren's intent but it is a political ploy as old as time. Put an opinion out there that's a bit over the boundary to dog whistle your supporters, then pull back and 'clarify'. You get the message out there, you keep the topic on the boil and you back away from it.

John Howard was a master of it, although he usually had others do it for him.

I think it was accidental, but one can indeed make an omelette out of that egg.
