Yes, but why. What was the reticence to have Shaun as captain and conversely why Cassisi instead?

Curb Choco's influence?
Shaun wasn't ready?
Cassisi wasn't part of a 'faction'?
Speculation, Curb Choco and possibly Shaun’s training capacity with shot knee may not have been seen as ideal to demand a standard players strived to emulate.

I suspect a mix of all three with two and three in larger portions than one.

The fact that Shaun buggered off to Hawthorn when he became one of the more senior players and was required to shoulder more responsibility indicates that he probably wasn't ready.

He was already one of the more senior players required to shoulder responsibility when they handed off the captaincy to Cassissi. And he was definitely leading in the midfield in 2006-2008.

The phrase "Kicking Against the Pricks" came to mind as a good name for Warren's campaign for election to the board, or maybe for a 'white noise' led supporters revolt. Kicking gives it a footy feel, while it should be obvious who the Pricks are in this situation.

The phrase has become a metaphor for resisting authority, and stems from the spiked 'goads' used on cattle to make them go in the required direction - the more the poor beasts kicked against the pricks from the goad, the further it was driven into their flesh.

Thus the phrase also refers to the futility of such action, so while it would be good for Warren to be elected, I don't know what real change he can make to the moribund management of our club.

What is he making reference to?
Not exactly covered himself in glory defending Dana White's refusal to reign in UFC fighters when they make atrocious, vile homophobic and sexist remarks, in this case from Sean Strickland.

Tredders is probably not going to be able to change much on his own but at least there is the chance that an alternate point of view will be expressed around the table and many of us will feel that our views are being aired. There is also the chance that Tredders will become a mouthpiece for Member dissatisfaction and that Koch will feel the undercurrent of unrest. Electing Tredders to the Board will also upset Koch and that is enough for me.

So Kathy Nagle has been lauded for her approach regarding governance on the Board... Meanwhile the hospital which she is the CEO of is about to go bust.

Dare I say this in the eyes of many voters is going to make her candidacy untenable..

Amazing. Zero chance Tredders loses now!

Until Tredrea is finalised onto the Board and it is formally announced, I'm going to continue to have doubts, in large part because I know what work has been undertaken to get to this point and I'm of the firm opinion now is not the time to be sitting back applauding the efforts to date.

Tredrea has been trying to get onto the Board since August 2022 - a period spanning nearly 18 months. In a little over 2 weeks time the voting will close and what will be, will be. But this is the most important period, as this is when the fans finally get to have their say.

Everyone who wants to see the Club find itself again should be voting for Tredrea, and shouting it from the rooftops.

Looks like vote information emails are going out.

2023 members who are not signed up for 2024: make sure the club doesn't ratf**k you! If you don't get an email with information on how to vote, contact the club and demand that they honour your rights.

... and then vote for Tredrea!

Koch obviously realised that Nagle and Abernethy were taking votes form each other rather than from Tredrea.

I wouldn't be surprised if Nagle gets a chairman's pick spot anyway.
