Toast Warren Tredrea - Elected to the Port Board (Football discussion only)

Koch obviously realised that Nagle and Abernethy were taking votes form each other rather than from Tredrea.

I wouldn't be surprised if Nagle gets a chairman's pick spot anyway.

I initially thought the same but given her workplace is a financial mess and that she would have had a huge hand in that, it would be a horrible look politically for the Club to handpick her for a position surrounding governance.

In other news, voting information has started to go out. I separated my two memberships to different names so each membership could have a vote but I've only gotten one email. Gonna have to contact the Club tomorrow to fix it..they're doing every shady tactic in the book.

Looks like vote information emails are going out.

2023 members who are not signed up for 2024: make sure the club doesn't ratf**k you! If you don't get an email with information on how to vote, contact the club and demand that they honour your rights.

... and then vote for Tredrea!
Got mine. Cancelled end of last year, but club still sent the email to vote like they should have.

Amazing. Zero chance Tredders loses now!
I wouldn't be so sure about that, from what I've seen on facebook and Advertiser comments sections Bruce has far more popularity, the common fear is that Tredders will rock the boat which is funny as that's exactly what most of us here want to happen.

Like many on here, cancelled my membership last offseason due to Hinkley dissatisfaction. Still got my voting eligibility email today. This whole 2023 members only thing is probably going to do more good than harm to Tredrea's chances.

If the narrative goes from insufficient time to continue to Koch hand selecting her to return, I have little hope for the club even if Tredrea wins.

At the end of the day roughly 4k people vote for these positions. It's not a big cohort. You're also going to find a lot of people online pumping support up for one candidate or another who 1) are not a financial member of the club and 2) who can't be bothered voting anyway.

History has shown that people don't typically vote a candidate in to win an election unless they want to kick the incumbent out for being there too long, or because they find the candidate to be too good a proposition not to vote for them. You rarely ever see people voting for one candidate simply because they don't want the other candidate in.

I expect there to be a lot more voters who will vote for Tredrea because they legitimately want him to help create positive change at the Club, than there will be voters for Abernethy on the proviso that they're voting for him to keep Tredrea away from the Club.

Until Tredrea is finalised onto the Board and it is formally announced, I'm going to continue to have doubts, in large part because I know what work has been undertaken to get to this point and I'm of the firm opinion now is not the time to be sitting back applauding the efforts to date.

Tredrea has been trying to get onto the Board since August 2022 - a period spanning nearly 18 months. In a little over 2 weeks time the voting will close and what will be, will be. But this is the most important period, as this is when the fans finally get to have their say.

Everyone who wants to see the Club find itself again should be voting for Tredrea, and shouting it from the rooftops.

Of course everyone should still be getting their votes in and trying to convince anyone they can to do the same but objectively Warren should have a resounding win from here.

Nagle had multiple points of difference from Tredrea - the advantage of incumbency, the non football candidate, the female candidate.

If I had to write in support of her candidacy I could put together a good argument. I could do no such thing for Abernethy.

Abernethy has no genuine point of difference to Tredrea. He is an ex player of far less significance who maybe half of all members can't even remember as a player. Anyone who is just looking to vote for the ex player is voting for Tredrea. The only votes Abernethy gets are the hard core 'pro Koch/anti Tredrea' votes - who would be significantly less in number than the hard core 'pro Tredrea/anti Koch' votes.

I'm looking forward to casting my vote as soon as polling opens and expecting a resounding win for our man.

Me and my other half both got the emails, so that's definitely two for Warren.
Brilliant - out of interest, have you voted in these elections regularly in the past?

As Papa said, now’s the time to get vocal about Abernathy’s track record. He’s not the right choice. He’s not even an adequate choice.

I'm a 2023 member who hasn't signed yet for 2024 and I got the e-mail.

I've definitely made a point of voting in the last 4 or 5, before that mostly just if there was a particular candidate I had an interest in.

I separated mine by giving a different email for my husband's membership. That worked as I received two emails from Corporate Voting Services.

Yeah I gave the Club a separate email as well but I never received an email to that address. Will be following up with the Club first thing in the morning.

Yes, but why. What was the reticence to have Shaun as captain and conversely why Cassisi instead?

Curb Choco's influence?
Shaun wasn't ready?
Cassisi wasn't part of a 'faction'?

According to a former board member, the board and ceo were not impressed with Choco ignoring the process, and it impacted on Shaun's chances.
