The Mornington Peninsula Fwy has really changed the travel equation for people who want to live down the peninsula and work in the Eastern suburbs.

Be a tempting opportunity to live somewhere like Mount Martha and do a quickish 40 minute or so drive to Dingley.

Geelong get plenty of traction for their proximity to the Surf Coast/Bellarine Peninsula so I don't see why the Hawks couldn't market Dingley in a similar fashion.
Bingo.

Attractive for free agents in a few years

Spot on. Players are actually doing it now and travelling to Melbourne. Heard Max Gawn on a podcast lately that he lives on the Ninch and travels up.

I remember even Clarko saying when it was announced, that it was actually quicker for him to travel to Dingley over Waverley, with the new Dingley bypass.

Have laughed at the media trying to make it another Saints/Seaford disaster. Dingley Village is a nice spot, with a good family community. It's gonna be world class!

There’s a very handy turn off straight to Dingley from the new by-pass coming up from Frankston.

Makes sense for the older players who aren’t interested in living in the thick of the city, to set up down south and have a quick commute.

Things have changed dramatically in the past 5 years re: how our city moves and how we work. I’m sure the club will embrace it completely.

Seaford was half baked from the beginning and (typically) St Kilda politics saw it turn into a white elephant.

We won’t be so silly.

Also surely would help with the facility being way better then what st kilda had at Seaford aswell…

Which means barely an hour from Sorrento/Portsea 😉
They’re a nice place to hang out and be seen as an AFL player, not sure about purchasing there though. Lots of good spots along the peninsula with ease of travel to Dingley and Sorrento if our boys or potential recruits are that way inclined.

56 minutes to Sorrento for me in springvale south but dingley you get straight on the freeway so probably like 45 minutes. Joel selwood could do the trip in 25 minutes but most of us don't go 140km/h

When Selwood speeds, the driver of the car he’s overtaking gets pinged.

something tells me the Waverley Park groundskeeper might not be following the club to dingley 😂 will be good to have asecondary oval if one has grass damage though...

From that grainy photo it looks like it's recovering from either a heavy scarify or maybe a topdress. Hardly the groundsman's fault that there is football training/games on these ovals 12 months a year these days. Not the only oval that has had to adapt to that, that's for sure.

There’s not though.
