“The KCC will feature two ovals – including one open with a pavilion and full game day amenities for AFLW home matches and community football – a large-scale indoor training facility and state-of-the-art aquatic and fitness centres.”

“We are delighted to have secured this state government funding, which will ensure the project can be delivered in its entirety, directly benefiting the Dingley Village community and the wider south-east of Melbourne.”

I know I'm just comparing the shapes assigned on the diagrams from post #2583, but am a little bummed that the design of the 'elite training center' has become a boring rectangular box and lost the swoopy lines that evoked old Glenferrie....
I'd been super happy with the prior homage within a contemporary iteration, guess those wavy exterior walls proved too costly.:'(
Gripe over.

Looks like dingley can’t come soon enough, wonder if construction has even started

That is disappointing. Good enough for our AFL listed players but not for our women? The ground is getting a new pavilion and upgraded facilities. Let’s hope that they can bring the surface up to scratch ASAP.

Think they’re meant to start the redevelopment after next vfl season, question has to be asked do they try and bring foward the re surfacing…?

The surface at box hill this year has been heavier than usual. It has come a long way since the time of Sam playing there 20 odd years ago.

The surface needs to cover at least two games on the weekend. Needs to be upgraded as the VFLW and VFL play back to back. Hopefully we get this done ASAP

Strange that Box Hill will be done in 18 months, same time as Dingley. Would have made sense to have done one earlier? Hawks AFLW will have no home games for the next two seasons, then one ground won’t really be needed.
Has construction on dingley even started yet, considering the club are planning to move in early 2025, surely they’d be trying to have the aflw oval done in time for next season if they can?

Hawks will play the next 2 at Frankston.
It's actually got a great environment, connects to the old peninsula recruiting zone so there's a fair concentration of supporters in the area. Also has decent access by PT (at least compared to other AFLW grounds)

Yes, very good ground, but 80% of our supporters don't live within 30km.

I assume considering the men are planing on moving in early 2025 will there be a chance they play games at the KCC later in the season?
