Potentially 12 months until Dingley? Sounds great but I wouldn’t be shocked if the timeline blows out another 12mths or so. Fingers crossed the budget doesn’t blow out too.

I had the last week off work and came back into an alert that there had been an update to the projects details. So as always I logged into the system and captured the new information. As always with my updates, all this information is publicly available (somewhere) and subject to change.

As previously confirmed in the thread by others the construction start date is now listed as starting in april 2023 with an expected completion date 2 years later in april 2025.

Its now sitting at a stage of
PRE REGISTERED TENDERS INVITED FOR DESIGN/CONSTRUCT PACKAGE TENDERER NAMED

The only tenderer listed thus far is - Kane Constructions (Kane Constructions | Multi award winning, privately owned commercial construction company) - I would say that we have invited Kane to submit a tender and I have no doubt that there will be other construction companies tendering soon from the looks of those details.

The Town planning application has been updated as the notes also now state.

New TPA KP2019-359. Information available from Duo Projects Pty Ltd E-Tendering portal. Please note each tenderer will require their prices from subcontractors & suppliers prior to the official tender closing date.

I have divulged duo projects as the developer of the project in a previous post.

It is good to note that all the construction tenderers are required to submit all costings for all subbies and suppliers too, this should reduce any chances for cost blowouts. It looks like the club is doing its due diligence in making sure the costs are as close to as quoted.
So there isnt too much more that we didnt already know. I dont know anything about the company thats been invited to tender but their website looks like they have done some pretty impressive work around the country.

Building cost have skyrocketed since this project was forcast.
Not great timing for Dingers or HFC. Just wait untill we see the inevitable looming GFC.

Our new home feels about as close to realisation as our next flag. We will have to be patient.

Any word on this being scaled back or done in stages? Are we still building the second smaller oval which would host AFLW? With Box Hill being upgraded next season and the AFLW moving more towards winter do we really need to be playing AFLW at Dingley?

Completed 2024, you reckon?

Depends if it properly clashes with the mens season cuz right now they would still need a facility when Box Hill is taken for cricket and also I’m pretty sure they plan to use that oval for community footy aswell

Got a fresh update yesterday (very minor)

Just confirmed that the option to tender is now closed and the 3 construction companies I have previously named are the tenderers.

Start and finish dates are still projected as april 2023-april 2025.
Do we know if the 2025 date is the whole facility including the community parts to it, are they planning on doing the parts needed for the football department and training… because I remember earlier in the year one of the letters from Jeff said the Hawks plan on moving in towards the end of next year…?!? Also I assume the hawks will plan on having a builder signed up and construction starting before the agm at the end of the year..?

We are still waiting on our 15 million promised to us that all other clubs have received according to JK.
There was discussion on this a couple of weeks ago by Don Scott. It seems that it was initially knocked back by Andrews. While Andrews was off work with his broken back, James Merlino, who became acting Premier and a passionate Hawks supporter approved the grant. Andrews, since returning has blocked the grant.
If you are a voter, you should message Andrews and let him know how you feel. His electorate is Mulgrave.

Unfortunately, the club has been Jeffed!

As much as I dislike our current President - if funds are being blocked because of his penchant to criticise the govt. then that says more about Andrews than JK.

Tend to agree....if that is the reason.

I wonder when we hear more news from the club about dingley, feels like its been a while since they've mentioned dingley... Will it be before the agm and also wonder if we get more artist impersonations before they start building it?

If that is true and we announced it and put it to tender without anything in writing, Jeff has sullied his whole reign. This whole thing would put on hold and could become a financial disaster for us.
Or, with a $15m shortfall we could build the training oval and facility on the right. AFLW and community sports (on the left) would have to wait.

It would make sense to include it for wheelchair and blind afl but are they even including the indoor stadium that’s at the end of the first field, I swear the club Dosent have it in the clubs latest artist impersonations

The $15M grant in question was always contingent on our receiving an AFLW side. It was part of the 2021/22 state budget. I am having trouble confirming anywhere that Jeff has publicly stated that this funding promise has been rescinded (happy to be pointed in the direction of this though).

If the federal government funding promised is contingent on there been a community benefit then we probably have to build the community oval before we build the training base.

This says more about all politicians sadly. It’s the way politics works and why many people connected with the club could see this from a mile away.

I believe the AFLW stuff is being built first
