Just to clarify - there you have it,

We officially this year can upgrade 3 players on our rookie list in 2009.

As we all know, given that we have no Veterans on our list, we are able to upgrade 2 rookies automatically without any LTI's.

However, people seem to be forgetting that the new AFL ruling stats that every club can upgrade an additional rookie after Round 12.

Pfeiffer has already been guaranteed an elevated position.

So that leaves us with the decision of 2 out of: Jacobs, Garlett, Joseph, Stanton, Bentley

Garlett and Bentley for mine but thats going off one game. Liked the sauce the other night but it defeats the point of trading in Warnock.

Garlett and wait and see for mine. How soon can you elevate, for eg could Garlett play RD1? And how do we know Pfiefer has a guaranteed elevation?

Jacobs if we can get Warnock on the LTI list.

Garlett looks very good but I don't know if he's physically ready to play in the AFL H/A season. Makes a young Matty Lappin look like a tank.

Bently looked handy the other night but Joseph did aswell.

Haven't seen Stanton yet but he is a good player.

Garlett does look to have the mose potential and a lot of potential that is.

So to pick a 3 I would go Jacobs out of necessity, Bently to replace Carrazzo and Scotlands position while there injured and as for the 3rd I am not sure yet.

Does anybody know unequivocally if Pfeiffer has been promised one spot??

If so it would come down to Sauce or Garlett for mine.....with potentially Sauce getting the nod for ruck depth if Warnock is still dicey. Garlett promoted as the round 12 rookie.

Whilst there is nothing in writing publically,

I remember Liam Pickering (Pfeiffers manager) stating that Pfieffer would be a nominated rookie and still play senior football in 2009, around the time he was delisted.

Also, Ratten made mention of it in the video where he discusses our new recruits on CFCtv.

So where is Pfeiffer at the moment then? Is he injured because I don't recall hearing him being injured. Will he play Nab cup soon if he isn't so we can see what he has going into 09?

Carrots certainly would not be going on the LTIL as he will be back in a couple of weeks and as for Scotty...well I don't know....what's the mail on one H.Scotland???

Anyone??

Scotland has been catching up on a pre-season which he missed through his operations. Believe he is very fit though through his running and other aerobic work. I have not seen any recent training reports but would expect he will be starting ball work/contact work soon. I don't think he will play a nab game but maybe might get a lil time in the last week?

Whilst I appreciate what you are saying C4, I'm not quite sure why the club would come out and say that Pfieffer will automatically be one of the nominated rookies this year. I know it's early, but I would have Garlett pencilled in already, even though he's skinny, it does appear he could have some impact at AFL level.

Bentley and Jacobs both showed enough on Friday night to suggest that they could also have an impact also at AFL level. Either way, it will be intriging to see which way the club goes.

Gartlett, Sauce and Ellard would be my three Stanton just isn't there yet and Bentley kicks worse than Carrots. If that is correct Pfiffer is been promised to be upgraded and Warnock and all our ruckman are fighting fit it should be Gartlett and Ellard.

It was only one game but i thought Joseph did a great job tagging boomer on Friday. Really got into him Stevey Baker style. We've lacked a strong, consistent tagger for a long time... Joseph would be up there before Jacobs, as Warnock is a possibility to be back by the beginning of the season according to reports

Hampson, Kreuzer, Cloke...and then Warnock is more than enough. If one get's a LTI (touchwood) then yes, promote Jacobs - but he's not a priority imo.

If that is true, then what a waste.

For mine it would be Jacobs, Joseph and then Bentley. I think people are overestimating our ruck stocks with the Warnock acquisition.

Regards from David Ellard (and BlueGunslinger of course) and Lachie Hill...

If so it would come down to Sauce or Garlett for mine.....with potentially Sauce getting the nod for ruck depth if Warnock is still dicey. Garlett promoted as the round 12 rookie.

By that rationale it could well come down to which out of Warnock and Yarran is more dicey by round 1.

In reality we'd need to wait until the entire NAB Cup/Challenge series to get a good look at all our rookies, but isn't that what the series is for?

If that is true, then what a waste.

It did seem odd that Pfeiffer kicked the sealer in one match and was then dropped and seemingly out of favour.

The justification for his demotion to the rookie list is that Tiller was too young to rookie, so we needed an extra spot.

I can't help thinking if he isn't an automatic inclusion (read increased depth) and Jeff Garlett (or,say, Bentley) continues to shine in the NAB cup, we may have wasted an elevation - particularly if Jacobs fills the other spot. (Rather than substituting Darren as the LTI list grows.)

Can we put Russell on the LTI?

I suggested that in another thread, and got hounded by the pro-JR apologists ...

Anyhow Pfeiffer certainly should not be the nominated Rookie this year, he is lazy, and has a pretty inconsistent and terrible work ethic.

After what he shown on friday night, Garlett is worth persisiting with, and considering the fact Warnock may not play all year, I reckon you might have to look at putting the great man Jacobs on the senior list sometime ...

He should still be not playing all season with Freo.

Garlett is definitely worth persisting with, Jacobs should be put onto the senior list and Pfeiffer definitely should not be on the list, he didn't do anything last season to deserve a spot on the list.
