WE need to appeal our sanctions

I have never been so disillusioned with all things AFL.

In the past year we've been punished for salary cap cheating, yet kept on the man that was at the heart of it. Melbourne were not tanking, yet Bailey copped 16 matches. Essendon systematically injected their players with banned drugs and drugs not approved for human use and even drugs that THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THEY ARE, yet Hird still says he's done nothing wrong. Vlad gets exposed as the corrupt liar we all knew he was (Lets be honest, the reason Ess got that pick was because Hird dropped his supreme court action which could have seen Vlad charged and possibly sent to jail). Melbourne will likely get a priority pick, after wanting PP was what got them where they are in the first place.

I sit here and I think, Why? What is the point? Why do I invest so much in a team that has no chance because we refuse to stand up for ourselves, and in a competition that favours the money ahead of integrity and fairness?

I'm so close to being done.

Don't forget terrible umpiring in close prelim finals!

I think we found out that even if you play ball, like we did, they still leak like a sieve. Caro and Emma Quayle were in fine form during our saga. Obviously doing their jobs, but I don't think the AFL has the ability to keep anything in house. Someone down there has very loose lips.
I think I am being misunderstood. They way it sits now IMO is that we do not know exactly what Adelaide did and how bad the "leaks" would have got if you had not played ball. The crime may have actually been worse than we got to believe at the time.
This is also what I mean by backfiring against the AFL as some people might think along similar lines and start thinking that the code may not be as squeaky clean as we would like to believe.

Sometimes it's all part of the bullshit.. The AFL would have never intended it to be 3 years, but they start there to make it look better when they only give you 2 years.. But 2 years was the plan all along..

Carlton would have been offered 3 years, maybe even 4.. Then it gets talked down.. Almost like EBA bargaining and the unrealistic starting points on each side of the fence..
So we couldn't have ended up losing only 3 picks like Essendon?

Steven and Rob,

Thanks for the response a few more tid bits from today.

Demitriou has mentioned on 5AA the difference in outcomes between our offence and Essendons. Apparently it was due to Essendons full cooperation and our lack of.

Considering Essendon called the AFL billigerent and Hird issued Supreme Court Action I find this laughable.

Here is some conflicting evidence.

I hope this riles you both as much as it would most of us fans,

Thanks

My latest email to trigg and chapman.

So based on the report on Channel 9, all the Crows are asking is Demetrio "retract" his comments about the Crows not cooperating with their investigation.
No actually we are not. When asked about this Chapman said it was up to 5AA to get Vlad back on to clarify his statements. There was no demand by the Crows to Vlad that he makes a public retraction.

It's separate to the other penalties.. The AFL were always standing by 2 years of picks lost for example.. We talked that down as far as it would go.. Saying we'll sack Trigg would not have made them say "well now we won't give you such harsh draft penalties or we will remove them".. It's the multiple hit, they also wouldn't let a rich club just say "fine us $5 million and don't give us draft sanctions or loss of points thanks"..

So how did Essendon only lose 3 picks?

So how did Essendon only lose 3 picks?

Because they're Essendon ;)
And don't be surprised if there's something to the Hird court action, where the AFL and Vlad needed it to be dropped..

And interestingly, we had a penalty attached to ours that we couldn't take father/son picks..
Essendon don't.. And were then given a pick back..

That's largely irrelevant, the AFL will ensure we don't have a F/S pick until the year 3052. Hate those F#@ks with a passion!!

does anyone think there is more to come for the bombers from asada f*** I hope so, Vladimir is a fat greasy f*** and I hope karma catches up with him in the form of an out of contol bus next time he crosses the road to go to KFC

Ok so I posted my previous email. Seems as though I should of kept reading to see Rob had already rolled out the bull.

I am done. I will watch the games on tv if I can be bothered but I will not spend another dollar on this club, but more importantly on this competition.

When trigg and chapman are gone and Vlad has died of old age I may come back. But it will be hard to see.

Over it.

Who cares anymore, the club is full of shit and any attempt to discuss it at the AGM will just get fobbed off.

We will never get any real answer because the **** heads in charge are only looking out for their own self interests.

We are not scared or frightened of the AFL, we (those in charge) are too scared to lose their position within the club, that's why they will stay silent.

So how did Essendon only lose 3 picks?

Its the Vics looking after their own.

We can all be annoyed at Trigg and Chapman for the Tippett saga, however today's comments from Vlad shows that there is a huge disparity with the treatment and subsequent penalties of our conduct and that of Essendon's.

Vlad can spin his bullshit all he likes but it is beyond belief that we lost more draft picks than Essendon. Bomber Thompson admitted that they don't know what they administered to players.
F#@k me, they don't know what they gave players, how the hell can anyone at Essendon put players health at risk. Can't wait for a class action from the parents.

I really hope that WADA/ASADA absolutely smash Essendon once they have finalised their investigation and I really hope Essendon never ever recover from this, this would be the only saving grace to the pathetic penalties dishes out by the AFL.

Has it been said how much Hird has to distance himself from the club? "No official role" I was shocked he can attend games, isn't really a Trigg like punishment, it doesn't even sound as strict as Baileys punishment. Surely he can't speak to anyone at the club.

I bet they put him up in a comfortable box to watch games, send him to upcoming teams games. So that he can un officially run things during the week.

Here's the correspondence we had - I don;t think there's anything outrageously confidential about it.

>> I am writing to express in the strongest terms my hope that you will take a stand on the disgraceful inequality in how Essendon and Adelaide were punished by the AFL commission in 2012 and 2013.

>> To compare Adelaide's crime of dubious paperwork and assurances (in a situation where there were no actual salary cap breaches) to Essendon's systematic drug experimentation on its players is ludicrous - and to think that AFC received more serious punishment than Essendon is disgraceful.

They have played all year , qualified for finals and have now had that stripped off them ! That said, the draft scenario needs explanation beyond what we have had - I will be seeking that.

Dear Rob,

Thanks for your prompt and respectful reply - I certainly appreciate it.

But I think we need to be realistic. Essendon not playing in finals saves the AFL some embarrassment and barely impacts Essendon, considering they were clearly not a premiership contender this year.

A $2m fine just before they undergo a massive membership campaign means this will not be felt.

The fact they agitated so strongly to avoid the loss of draft picks (and retained the pick that allowed them the romantic notion of father-son selecting Michael Long's son next year) - the fact they resisted the loss of draft picks so strongly is clear evidence that THIS is the only punishment that they perceive as truly damaging.

All else is just a smokescreen.

Unless you truly believe that our crimes were equal to Essendon's, I implore you to publicly make a stand for your player group and supporter base. There is a monumental injustice being perpetrated here, and you are our representative empowered to make a stand.

We need to know that we fight the contest as strongly in the board room as we do on the field. You are the representative of the people, and as our voice you need to make clear how disgraceful we feel our punishment (five draft picks!) now appears, after a 2013 that has included tanking and result manipulation by one club and drug experimentation on a player group by another.

I think this moment is incredibly important in our club's future and your stand is an essential part of it.

Best wishes,
KRIS
