My prediction is on richmond and bulldogs winning tomorrow..

Thursday night
Elimination final 5 West Coast vs 8 essendon

Friday night
Qualifying final 1 Geelong vs 4 Collingwood

Saturday afternoon
Elimination final 6 GWS vs 7 Bulldogs

Saturday night
Qualifying final 2 Brisbane vs 3 Richmond
Whats the prediction second week?
Does the QF1 loser play the lowest ranked elimination final winner? That how it works?

Nah the 1v4 loser plays the 5 v 8 winner and the 2 v3 loser plays the 6 v 7 winner.

So in my scenario, if the higher ranked teams won week 1 then week 2 would be collingwood vs west coast and richmond vs gws

No, tis fixed brackets the entire way through.

Which is also why the bleating about ‘earning’ a home GF is a nonsense, as the finals themselves (after week1) aren’t fixtured to give the most advantage to the ‘higher ranked’ H&A team.

If 4th beats 1st in week one, they just assume their spot as the winner of QF1 and host PF1.

Brisbane are beating Richmond at the Gabba, pure and simple. And it will be the Saturday night blockbuster.
I think Richmond get all G games if that happens.

Now we know why Whateley went right off his rocker about Stephenson playing in the VFL,he was thinking ahead to this scenario, his precious puty Cats.
:D

It’s the 50 year anniversary of the 1969 grand final between Richmond and Geelong...
Honestly I just can’t see Geelong lifting enough to make a GF. Collingwood at the MCG would overwhelm them in a QF. Given their recent history i just can’t trust them. Maybe I’ll be wrong.

Also, WC losing last night was disastrous for their flag chance. I’ve been on them all year but it makes it so hard now. An in form WB or Hawks would push them all the way in an EF.

Not willing to count anybody out just yet. Tigers win today and the eagles play Essendon at home, that’s a straight passage through to a semi final against the loser of cats pies, you’d have to give them a 50/50 shot at winning that game. As for the cats I think the pies will roll them first up but they’d want to play a lot better than they did against Essendon. It’s wide open I reckon.

I guess we keep discounting Brisbane don’t we! I just see Richmond and Collingwood being the most dangerous top 4 sides when fully fit. Don’t think Eagles would beat Collingwood in a semi, better off playing the Cats. I honestly just can’t get inspired by Geelong. They might totally show everyone up but I am not convinced on them come finals.
