The Gawn incident appears to have involved a whistle for a free kick - other players stopped. It’s still bad to lose focus and let Hogan go on with it but not as bad as giving up on a live ball which is what I think people thought.

I like the guy but wonder if he was really needed. I suppose we didn’t know we’d get Naughton but we have Adams, Morris, Collins, Roberts, Young and Cordy on the list and can play Roughead back if desperate. He’s better than some of the above but how much better is not clear.

True but Morris likely to retire, Collins unlikely to make it, Roberts future unknown & Young may be forward or back. Either way, one bright light for us is that our defence seems sorted for the next decade so we should be looking to bolster our forwards, mids & runners over the next 2-3 drafts

Yeah I think I am a bit more forgiving of those sorts of goals because it's incredibly hard to tell from our position what the actual defensive set up is supposed to be. All I know is the guy behind me kept yelling to play man on man like it was 1990 haha
I swear I can't wait until those guys are extinct.
Hear it every week.

One was poor. When a team is 60 out, you don't stand 10m in front of him. Top level showed this clearly.

No it doesn't. The moment demanded he was closer to his opponent.

Without seeing the footage I am obviously only speculating. But it's common for us to play a spare defender 10m in front of their key forward to block space. It's normally Easton Wood, but I have noticed that since playing on Buddy he occasionally plays as the deep defender now.

Yea agree with all that but not when the ball is 60 out from goal.

Thought his effort was great against Melbourne, until that stupid incident with Gawn. Really undisciplined and is something Melbourne did when they were crap. I hope this isn't a sign of tensions within the team.

Don’t think he has been to bad when played in Defence think that and second ruck is his best position. Should be a good match up for Dixon this week.

Ok Bevo

Until English is ready physically, this is the guy we use and persist with in the medium term

No ifs nor buts, no more throwing him down back on the gorillas as we've got plenty of KPDs, he is an absolute competitor and that third quarter display yesterday from him with pure grunt and follow up work that wore Goldstein down and gave us plenty of first use is exactly what we've been crying out for in the guts since third man up got abolished.

Trengove main ruckman, Boyd forward ruck, Roughy VFL/back up ruck if retained
