List Mgmt. Welcome Bailey Williams (Pick 35, 2018 National Draft)

If you had to pick a consistency in our drafting of talls, it'd be their commitment to the contest. Nothing is more important as a tall with ability, to want to effect the game physically in the air and on the ground. McInnes is still on our list because he can apply his frame. When's the last time we took a genuine tall who didn't put in the effort or didn't have the physicality? Notte?

With genuinely terrifying prospects to match up on across our whole spine, it gives Williams the best opportunity to learn from them and develop his competitive instinct. We will have a player here.

Here's Knightmares write up from April. Rated him the 8th best prospect. Check out the 'similar to '

8. Bailey Williams (VIC)
Best position:
Ruck
Height, weight: 198cm, 91kg
Recruited from: Dandenong Stingrays
Projected draft range: 10-30
Similar to: Nic Naitanui
Rationale: Arguably the most dominant junior ruckman since Brodie Grundy. Elevates so high at centre bounces you think he is taking a specie over opponents. Opportunities for Dandenong to play through the ruck will be limited given their depth including three genuine rucks so he'll have to continue to improve his craft as a forward to maintain stocks as a possible early draft choice.
Strengths:
-Leap
-Gets first hands on it in the ruck almost every time
-Attacks the ball in flight
-Production
-Capable both as a ruckman and key forward, kicking 15 goals from 17 TAC Cup games in 2017
Weaknesses:
-Inconsistent overhead and aerial mark
-Accumulation
-Tap work could be directed more effectively to teammates

My favourite bit of his highlights vid is around 2.00 min where he manages to not fluff up a simple soccer off the ground in the goalsquare.

We’re already better off than we were with Lycett
Think we'll miss Lycett much more than we realise - that is until rd1 next year, when Hickey gets toweled up by Stefan Martin.

Actually just getting one more optimistic sponsor message in. Now I am free to move on to someone else. Can start slagging off that filthy traitorous teal turdstain. Worst premiership ruck since Jordan Roughead

One of the top ruck prospects had to wait until Pick 35, but Bailey Williams eventually found an AFL home, with the West Coast Eagles picking him up.

Before the start of the season, Williams was rated the fifth-best prospect by Champion Data. And while his 2018 campaign wasn’t as strong as expected, he looms as an excellent selection for the Eagles.

“They’ve got a bargain here, the Eagles,” Ablett said.

“On that fast ground over there, that’s an outstanding selection.”
