Im usually optimistic about any new player coming to the club.

Never wanted this pea heart ever. Nothing surer he would fail.
Predictable, predictable, predictable.
An absolute embarrassment to our jumper

And he indirectly cost us Rosa :mad::mad:

And posters comparing pea heart to Priddis....CLUELESS
Neither Rosa nor Sinclair would make **** all difference to our side.

It was worth a punt - whether it pays off or not we will have to wait and see

Are you having a lend?

Rosa averaged 21.54 disposals per game
Currently that's twice Jetta's output...

He'd be a minor upgrade in terms of stats but Rosa is **** all. Incredibly low hurt factor for an outside mid. How many goals has he kicked in the past 3 years?

Too me there is a wider, elephant like issue sitting in the corner of the room...an issue that goes to the causation of today's unfortunate events....bit of minefield I may be about to step into, but here is my view...

The number of indigenous players playing in the comp today, is a massive spike on the numbers that were getting around in previous eras....yes we have issues surrounding retention and they don't all end up forging careers, but on a league wide scale...far, far more indigenous blokes on AFL lists than twenty years ago.

As someone who has watched his share of WA footy over the last thirty years, has seen the majority of indigenous talent that's come through the old WAFL, then up through Eagles and Dockers, as well as the home grown talent drafted interstate, I feel comfortable saying Lewis Jetta is someone that wouldn't of gotten with coo-eee of a being on an AFL list in the 80s and 90s, or even early 2000s....and if he had of he would played perhaps a handful of games, before disappearing into the sunset as another bloke who came into the system for a couple of years, didn't make the grade, and then ended up moving onto the next chapter of there adult life.

To me, the overall talent pool across the board isn't what it was twenty years ago...maybe more players, but arguably a far, far thinner spread of talent across the league.

And the same applies to the indigenous players spread throughout the league....every club now feels the pressure to find there own Cyril Rioil or Adam Goodes et al, and also feel the need to be seen to have there own contingent of indigenous talent etc...as a result, lots of flashy, speedy, silky looking but largely ill disciplined indigenous kids are getting drafted that simply wouldn't of got a run in previous eras when you simply didn't see non performing indigenous players plodding along and staying on senior lists after doing largely bugger all for 3 years on the trot, ala Lewis Jetta....but I guess delisting him might of offended his mentor Goodsey so who knows.

Whatever this guy showed playing WAFL colts for Swan Districts, he simply is not good enough to be on an AFL list, he is overtly afraid of the physical contact that is a requirement of the game, he provides zero defensive contribution to the team, and exhibits body language which will inevitably lead to an erosion of morale amongst teammates who have eyes and see it week in/out.

We never should of traded for him as he was already done at Sydney, and if we have learnt anything from today's shameful exhibition of unabashed fear laid bare on a footy field, it's that we need to recruit the right indigenous talent...rather than just grabbing at the first interstate based local that's played a half a seasons worth of good matches over five years, but feels homesick and wants to be closer to family.

Should be a do not recruit red flag right there.

How long is his contract? His body language screams lost passion to play...id be surprised if he sees it out.

Ive said my part about certain west coast players but he isnt in sydney any more, hes no longer protected by the non afl bubble. Media is ruthless here in wa and fans are extremely passionate.....he will cop criticism and im not sure how he will cope

Look, I don't see much but the clouds at east pert games are not that big.

Sinclair you ssssnake! You will probably win a premiership in the next few years. Be grateful we didn't want you!

Rosa is way better. Good defensively, good in the air, provided a great release option and didn't mind getting a hard ball when he had to.

Agreed.

But if the thinking is, however loyal and part of the group he may be, do we stick with the workman like Victorian draftee in Rosa, or do we put a round in the chamber and spin the barrel and go grab the flashy local indigenous magician type that every club needs to be seen to have its representation of in the AFL circa 2016....even if his career appears to be done, its likely always gonna be the latter one that gets the nod.

We needed contested ball winners, who can also apply defensive pressure.....Jetta is the utter antithesis of that sort of player, so I'll leave it up to you guys to decide whether the above statement has likely merit.

Yet we got him, why, because our inept recruiters will take anything that wants to come home instead of filling a role.

I rally don't get why you have to bring up the fact he's indigenous so much? What's that got to do with anything?

I remember it well, not sure about BOG but he was awesome for us. Did a lot of good things and was a complete team player. I miss him :(

He was a monster around the contest and moved the ball well. You could never question his attack on the ball which is exactly what we lack at the moment. But I guess we just have to back the recruiters :drunk::drunk::drunk:

Typical of Jetta though

He was very spasmodic player for swans too....we got sold on the hype ....

Drop him ...it's that simple

He looked like a hero at times at the Swans because they have so many a-grade mids that even if he was standing still on the boundary he would eventually get a bag. Now that we require him to get his hands dirty he shits his pants. I don't necessarily blame him I blame the idiots that got him at the club when we needed the exact opposite of what he provides.

We needed an inside clean hands mid

Not him

I'm effing jacked at our midfield .....on big money and not delivering

There should be a "do not post" red flag on most of your thoughts.

What did I say that was actually wrong though?

Not saying anything that hasn't been said by plenty of others in the past.

Or are you one of these people whose default setting is to see and shout racism whenever anyone attempts to mount a critical discussion point regarding anything involving indigenous people?

It's not all warm and fuzzy romance buddy.

If you don't face up to the realities of life honestly, positive change never happens.

Wasn't having a crack at Aboriginal people, simply discussing how the system is working that's all.
