Add Jack Ross to that group. He is a gut runner these days (4th in the 2km today) and was in our top 4 players against Brisbane in the final mainly at half forward. He's probably got another gear in him also now he feels like he can play at the level. Super creative towards the end of the season.Yeah, i dunno how a forward line of Lynch, Jack, Martin, Cumberland, Bolton, MRJ, Sonsie plus others rotating through all of a sudden is no good. Cumbo for example will be getting the 4th/5th best defender behind Lynch, Jack, Dusty and Shai.
I think the AFL media knows * all and continually proves me correct.
He really did finally pick up where he left off in his first season. Needs to find a place in the side because he'll be a major part of our team once our vets start dropping off. The offers will come and he'd have to be mighty tempted if he's kicking shit on a VFL oval.Add Jack Ross to that group. Always room for german beer.No room for wisenheimer?!?
Always room for german beer.
That's not even full strength german beer......drunk on one glass!
Man, what a problem to have......I hate being pedantic (not really) but I think you'll find that the Tigers were actually the top scoring team last year and 4th on %.
Agree, Ross will get a shot at it at some stage this year. I hope he takes his chance.Add Jack Ross to that group. Georgie says hold my beer...gonna break me some scoring records in points kicked a game...Man, what a problem to have......
Unfortunately for George, I think he better get used to playing at Punt Rd Oval (barring injury). And it's a great problem to have when a 3 time premiership hero is now depth.Georgie says hold my beer...gonna break me some scoring records in points kicked a game...
Solid brag.I’m rooting Jack Ross. He has clearly worked very hard to become a good runner.

wish I was rooting for Jack Ross...............I’m rooting for Jack Ross. He has clearly worked very hard to become a good runner.
The media missing out on something? that's not a surprise at all. On top of being #1 scoring side last yr, we were 9th for pts against & have recruited a defensive Coach for the specific role of sorting that out. I'd expect that to improve this yr & as with our scoring last yr, more so as the yr goes on.We had a top two scoring forward line last year in the league. You have picked up on something that the media has missed. Yep, the midfield is looking rock solid now, but, no one is talking about our forward line. It will be the best in the league now. So yes, improving the midfield actually made our forward line more potent and dangerous. I hope they continue to not pick up on this fact.
What Blair has done really has gone under the radar. Imagine the media carry on if it was S.Wells...Great Post.
Said it many times but the addition of TT & Hopp compliments our draft of 21.2016 was our watershed moment then 21/22 surely is up there for it to continue.
Really looking fwd too 2023 on so many levels.
Honestly whatever we're paying Blair he's worth every cent.
I'll just say this - if we cant beat Carlton for a home game in round 1 with the additions of Taranto, Hopper, a fit Dusty (as well Grimes) and considering they won't have Walsh and Crazy Vossy's honeymoon year is over, then something will have gone horrifically wrong beyond chemistry.I just hope everyone holds their water if we get off to a slow or stuttering start. It's amazing the reactions here if we lose a game. It doesn't take long for the knives to come out.
Chemistry means everything in football and who's really interested in being spring champions ? Leave that to Carlton, Essendon and Collingwood flogs.
Taranto and Hopper tick a heap of boxes. Added to the recruiting we have done and the kids looking to push through has us in a good position. I will be interested to see if things are starting to click around mid year, that we don't have too many injuries and if it's all panning out like we hope.
There's a lot of optimism now but things take time to gel, especially if there's only one practice match before the season. The midfield keys Taranto - Hopper, Cotch, Dion, Dusty, Shai and Nank all need time to click and to be having good seasons and be in strong form for the final third of the year. Top 4 is essential and we would be a huge chance.
Bit dramatic lolI'll just say this - if we cant beat Carlton for a home game in round 1 with the additions of Taranto, Hopper, a fit Dusty (as well Grimes) and considering they won't have Walsh and Crazy Vossy's honeymoon year is over, then something will have gone horrifically wrong beyond chemistry.
Promises have been made. Dreams will be broken.
Yes we have been slow starters in our flag year slowly gathering momentum and peaking going into finals. I'd be happy doing that again in 2023. Look at Carlton last year, nailed on top 4 first half the season then missed finals.Bit dramatic lol
Out of curiosity what promises have been made and by whom? Or are you kidding? Sorry I can’t tell.
Dimma and co love a slow start to the season after the 2018 pain. The effort and intent of a team is more important than personnel at the elite level. I won’t be surprised if we drop a few early put it that way.
Great post by YeOld
Very strong and hard to tackle asI’m rooting for Jack Ross. He has clearly worked very hard to become a good runner.
Graham has been in a moon boot up until recently (maybe he is still in one), so has effectively no preseason to date. Graham has to be uber fit to be a good player, his gut running is his no.1 asset, so he will start a long way behind those others like Ross who have done the work. Ross should be given a good chance to show if late form last year was a bit of a fluke or that is the player he now is, which is as good as anything Graham has shown in his career, maybe better imo.Competing with Graham as that defensive mid that can gut run and cover the offence. IMO.
It’s great depth and competition. We’ve gone from a so-so midfield to a theoretically elite midfield in one off season. Sonsie the diamond in the rough. Have to make sure we keep him. Reckon he’ll be a gun.
Blair is up there with the best.Wells & Beaston(Swans). What Blair has done really has gone under the radar. Imagine the media carry on if it was S.Wells...
Not too worried about chemistry side of things. The big plus is we now have midfield depth. No more relying on an aging Cotch or overcooked Meatball.I just hope everyone holds their water if we get off to a slow or stuttering start. It's amazing the reactions here if we lose a game. It doesn't take long for the knives to come out.
