One player who was on his 3rd club in his 2nd year at the club .

Wrong.
It was his 3rd year.

2017. First year at the club plays in Premiership.

2018. Second year at the club and kicks 46 goals and named in the 40 man All Australian squad as a forward.

2019. Third year at the club and despite being one of the best forwards in the league in 2018 he gets moved to the midfield and later to the wing to make way for Tom Lynch.

If we weren't interested in Taranto & Hopper you can bet they'd be at Geelong or Collingwood right now getting credit for there games..
It's hard to look good when the rest of our playing group is playing so bad.
Don't fall for the media that these guys are playing terrible.
Finally !!

I have found a post of yours that makes sense and i agree with

well done son

You’re kidding yourself if you think a proud person will spend years of their life buying into something ( culture) / earning their stripes including on less coin for two blokes to waltz in and change everything .
Our midfield being completely upturned to suit Taranto and hopper at the expense in particular of Prestia / Sonsie / Bolton / Dusty / Graham won’t be lost on the players and if you think it will you’ve not experienced team sport at a real
High level .
Butler / Higgins / Ellis and even Markov going elsewhere and getting greater opportunity will only give players further confidence they can exceed elsewhere.
Not much point being seen as a club that welcomes players if also seen as a club that does so at the expense of its own

didn't bolton sign a 5 year deal months after we signed tarantino and hooper

A point that shouldn’t be lost , there inclusion has seen others playing bad .

Not suggesting it’s there fault but there integration into the side has been shitfully handled by the club to this point and to the detriment of ‘rest of our playing group’ .

⏰ will be the judge longer term .

Just out of curiosity where do you believe Richmond would be without Taranto & Hopper if we never got them to the club ?

We would have 2 more kids that may or may not be any better than RCD / Dow
and in 2024 had a team of kids running around getting smashed for the next 10 years and becoming the next Carlton

How is Carlton going with all the top picks they had
Dow , LOB , Kemp , Philp , Cunningham , and even before that Kreuzer , Gibbs , Walker , Murphy etc

They very well could be a team between 4-10 for the next 5 years and have McKay , Curnow , Cripps , Kennedy , Hewett all at the same age as our older players because they dont know and have never know what its like to be a winning team

We took 5 kids the year before and another 5 this year and could very well get another 2 in 3 weeks time
How many more kids do you want in the team
What have they offered so far where the money could have been spend better. They would still be at the basket case club called gws. Now we know why they are a basket place.
As far as kids goes as many as possible have you seen the age of most our seniors?

I think the point most would be making is the club has greatly miscalculated how good the list is and spent future assets when it was time to bottom out.

It is scary to think how bad we would be without hopper and taranto. But we're bad with them so we may as well kept our picks. It is what it is. We were never going to rebuild again with dimma. But these these two trades have set back future building a number of years

Na I think the club knows exactly where it is.
Just read an interesting article where JR says that he and Cotch are helping the club prepare for their next premiership tilt. That says to me they know they’re transitioning on the run

What a ridiculous ill informed post.

That’s just such a narrow minded argument that I expected you’d know better , fundamentally prestia should,be better off as the attention is spread way more , I thought he was better fri night , prior to that low impact ,,,I hope like a few of his teammates that being banged up so often is not pulling the finish line closer ,,hope not
Bolton is gong. Ok still off his AA formline , again with big bodies around him , youd reasonably expect he’d be a beneficiary, I can’t understand for life of me the TT hopper pres set up ,,,Fmd add some zip , hello👋, like Bolton , he attended 16 CBD the other guys 22/23 ,,,should be other way around

season 5 what an odd thing to say GIF

Completely irrational, we’re actually pretty competitive whilst the list is being overhauled meaning the journey to where we wanna be is somewhat closer than if we’re losing by 50-100p ea week . The only thing we miscalculated was having to compete with 14 players unavailable for selection at R5

LOL the more kids the better you saying !!

Gut the list and just get a bunch of kids to develop and get smashed week by week

You must love watching Richmond get smashed for decades

Super happy having both still.

Issues lay elsewhere
My oath and the injuries have exacerbated genuine structural issues , eg what we got coming thru as key forwards , who are our intercept defenders that are launching attacks , have I mentioned ruck reserves yet

we re @*@&$ stiff that our top pics from last two drafts are both unavailable due to LTI in gibbo and kaleb smith

Agreed. I think we’ve set our expectations too high considering our injury list at the moment

i think both are tracking fine considering its only 5 games into there tiger journey
i would have liked more but who dosn't want more
our start (and injuries) to the year hasn't helped how we view them both

i dont think we have got the midfield mix right yet we need a different mix of player in there cant have more than 2 of prestia hopper cotchin tarannto in and arond the ball at the same time
and we need more ouitside run
