Agreed. I hate it when people say we never beat anyone good. The 2017 GWS team we beat on the way to the GF were stacked AF, as were the Cats in 19 and 20.

All this talk in the media about how the equalisation policy of the AFL has failed, are missing the point. The salary cap is the equalisation as every club is dealing with the same amount of money to pay their players. The problem arises when clubs overpay for their players and then can't afford to keep the ones they want to keep or bring in new players they want to bring in because they simply don't have the room.

We've managed our cap better than any side in the league and at the end of next year when the likes of Cotchin Riewoldt Tarrant & Grimes come out of contract we will have freed up space to allow us to re-sign the likes of Bolton Balta Graham & Nankervis without really facing the prospect of losing any of them unless an opposition club offered well over what we're offering to keep them and if they do, it works in our favour again to let them go and free up more space for another raid on an opposition side.

It’s just typical of these socialist types. All they care about is equality of outcome rather than equality of opportunity….

The problem is, you can never have equality or outcome… and if we did, how stupid would the competition be?
Play a round Robin comp and award a club a flag every 18 years?

The only part, which I legitimately feel bad about is that these newer and smaller clubs don’t get nice big games in front of home fans.
But the positive for them is lesser pressure and spotlight too….

So you could argue with an equal salary cap, equal list sizes, soft cap, pros and cons of being a big club that it’s all a pretty even opportunity comp.

Equality of outcome? No thanks
