Free agency does not equal trading.

Malthouse, just like his first decade at Collingwood has either done no trading, or buggered it up. Daisy wanting to leave under Free Agency has ZERO to do with Mick's ability to trade, because he HAS no ability to trade and no clubs like dealing with him. Cost us flags.
Exactly. If Thomas wanted a trade to Carlton, there is no chance it would have happened.

Combine that with the fact that everyone they have chased so far has given them the finger (Savage, Chapman, Pods) and how they did nothing last year, it does look like MM and Carlton are sh!t trade players.

All the better for the rest of us because they also can't draft for sh!t either.

Surely you jest?

A sooky little daddies boy who wants to run home to daddy so he will be allowed to surf away his preseason instead of being a man and getting on with his rehab.

He may have been a great player a couple of years ago but he has gone downhill dramatically since then, NOT because of injury but because he continues to take the soft option in rehab.

Carlton have a millstone around their necks, thanks to Mick they have a surfer who moonlights as a half fit footy player.

I've got no idea about his off-field commitment, but his on-field commitment is second to none. I love him as a player and will sadly watch his Carlton exploits.

Before we are too hard on Carlscum's trading.......it doesn't sit too easy with me we gave up Heater and some cash for Pick 13 in 2011 and they only gave up pick 33 for Pick 12 in 2011!

Off field commitment and on field commitment are ONE, the two are inseperable in the modern day. If you don't put on the miles on the track or do the hard yards in recovery/ rehab its the same as slacking off on the field NO DIFFERENCE WHATSOVER.

But one of those has gone on to achieve quite a bit in his first couple of seasons in the AFL, the other has done diddlysquat.

Our midfield is looking scary good at the moment:
Swan, Pendles, Beam, Sidebottom, Ball and then Adams slots straight in as our sixth best midfielder.

If you look at the stats for Dayne Beam's 2010, it is very similar to Adams in 2013. Adams is already averaging 4 clearances per game.

For GWS Treloar, Ward and Greene had more possessions this year, but Taylor Adams was leading the GWS for average kicks per games.
In fact, I had a look at every club who finished in the top eight. We are now the ONLY club which has five players who average above 4 clearances per game. Hawthorn only has Mitchell and Lewis!

Seedsman, Thomas and Blair all had simalar (mid 70's) supercoach scores to Adams last year, however Adams is the youngest of those guys and didn't have the support around him so you would expect him to easily jump to a 90+ average as his tackling should go up significantly under the tutelage of Ball and Burns.

Our competition for spots in the 22 and especially on the bench is going to be crazy - Seedsman, Thomas and Blair are all worthy of playing plus Macaffer is an automatic in as our tagger, then you have Dwyer, Sinclair, Broomhead (who we haven't seen yet), plus pick 6 or 10 if they are mid-fwd types, it means Fasolo (remember him? have to find him a spot too) or Elliot have to move up the ground.

Welcome to Collingwood Taylor Adams!

Didnt know anything about him before this trade period. Got a feeling i will know a lot come early rounds of season in 2014. Love the fact he labels himself as in and under and loves the contest and will dish it out to the runners.

Pendlebury will love this kid to bits

To those who think he will only be an "inside player" you only need to look as far as JT. Thomas at the beginning of the year was known to be an inside only player, the rate of improvement in his uncontested numbers and ability to spread was immense.

The same amount of improvement will happen to Adams, he will be a star for us.

Adams is, and will continue to be 100x the player Josh Thomas is

100 x is a bit rough, JT had a very good first year of senior football considering the amount of football he'd missed. Once Luke Ball is gone (might even be the end of next season:() Adams will take over his spot with JT still playing the same role he played this year, which was inside midfield back up, and we will need both in our 22.

Was our Best 1st Year Player this season.

Adams will be a better player but JT will help Adams out Heaps

Josh Thomas was good last year in his 1st season and he was a star against the Swans with 36 touches thats not too shabby for a bloke just making up the numbers.

Adams will be better but if he continues like he finished last season will find himself in the team most weeks.

Does anyone know how long a deal Taylor Adams signed with us? I think it was for 3 years.

A link would be great.

The Report was 3 year/ 400k a Season.

Don't Quote me though
