I don't think he realises that Jye Amiss is an outlier in performance for his age. Quite funny tbh.A player half as good as Amiss would still have a pretty good career.

Perhaps Amiss’ development is a testament to Treacy’s work off the ball? The two compliment each other.Amiss has kicked 29 goals as a 19 year old KPF. Treacy in his third season has kicked 31 goals total in double the games. My personal opinion is he would be a great WAFL/SANFL forward but he doesn't have the extra dimension at AFL level that is required of forwards.
Switta is having a down season that is all. Treacy makes Crab look elite.Perhaps Amiss’ development is a testament to Treacy’s work off the ball? The two compliment each other.
On that basis, Switkowski should be delisted immediately

A lot of people would've been rating Darcy Fogarty lowly two and a half years into his AFL existence too.Switta is having a down season that is all. Treacy makes Crab look elite.
Why stop there? You can genuinely list dozens of KPF's who were average in their first 2/3A lot of people would've been rating Darcy Fogarty lowly two and a half years into his AFL existence too.

Tough to hear Amiss goes backpacking for 2 years celebrating our threepeatI'd take 500 goals form our third tall any day!
Just Brades having an opinion*Just Brades being Brades really
Yeah but you love a good controversial opinion to upset the sheeple. I'm not going to say he's a lock to be a gun (and I've never been as big on him as others) but using arguably the most exciting pure forward we've ever had as a measuring stick is almost as rough as saying you would have been ok delisting him at the end of the year.Just Brades having an opinion*
I'm happy to be proven wrong but right now he is not on a track to progress to AFL standard consistently.
see I'd disagree and say if he's half the player, he wont be that decent.Yeah but you love a good controversial opinion to upset the sheeple. If Treacy is half the player Amiss is I'd be ******* stoked, that's a decent AFL player
Not as big on Jye as others? I picture him being a 60-70 goal a year forward so Treacy could be a 30-40 goal a year forward. That's a decent playersee I'd disagree and say if he's half the player, he wont be that decent.
No, I don't think Jye is going to be kicking more than 60 goals in this day and age very often. 30 a year? I doubt Treacy gets near that, but if he does then I'd expect him to be providing link up play and getting higher disposals than he already does. Often he's caught behind his man or in completely the wrong spot. Not as big on Jye as others? I picture him being a 60-70 goal a year forward so Treacy could be a 30-40 goal a year forward. Really? There's a few kicking over 60 goals every year even in this day and age. Only the COVID years have had a Coleman less than 60 and I think they'll continue to look for ways to keep scoring up. I think Jye will consistently be in the top 4 or so goal kickers each year since he can kick them in lots of different ways so I'll back him to be a consistent 60 goal a year forward. No, I don't think Jye is going to be kicking more than 60 goals in this day and age very often.

And what was tabs doing as a 20 year old?Switta is having a down season that is all. Treacy makes Crab look elite.
I’m a long term fan of Treacy on this board but it does bother me a bit that he’s isn’t the most clinical forward going around... if you need 5 shots at goal to kick 2 goals that’s not very sustainable in intense finals footy. There's having an opinion and there's having an informed opinion.
Treacy is halfway through his third season after his second was ruined by illness and injury. Not getting to play footy in his draft year could easily have had impact on his pace of development. He's a key position forward...
I don't know any informed opinions could be logically definitive on his potential.
Fogarty was used as a developmental comparison ie that a KPF not having a blistering start to their careers isn't cause to write them off. Of course there are variations between their strengths and weaknesses (there's no mandatory set). But so too those will mix and morph as the player develops.I’m a long term fan of Treacy on this board but it does bother me a bit that he’s isn’t the most clinical forward going around... if you need 5 shots at goal to kick 2 goals that’s not very sustainable in intense finals footy.
Amiss will likely average 3-4 goals for every 5 opportunities he gets by comparison.
Darcy Fogarty comparisons with JT are a bit off still IMO - Fogarty has always been a beautiful set shot and very accurate and efficient in front of goal. His issue was he didn’t see much of the pill in those earlier years.
Josh is shaping to be a good honest workhorse at AFL level. A great result from the rookie list actually. On our prospective premiership team in 2-3 years time, you can get away with maybe 2 or 3 of the 7 forwards in the 22 being like that. Not 5 though.
However if Amiss kicks 70 a year then JT will be an ok foil beside him chipping in with 25-30 goals a season. I can deal with that.
It’s the small forward options that bother me, especially when Sonny retires.
If Schultz wants to leave I wouldn’t be too stressed. See if we can use whatever we get for him as an opportunity to upgrade that position.
One of the exciting signs in the preseason was seeing Treacy starting to clunk some big pack marks. You're right, it's a key piece that could transform his game and how much of a potential weapon he could be.If Treacy starts holding his marks it’ll make a huge difference.
At the moment I’m surprised in games when he holds onto one.
His confidence will skyrocket and he is a good user.
