Interesting connection with Tom Phillips in that foxsports article!

I really liked Moorey's game on the weekend. Just feel confident when the ball is in his hands. Really good evasiveness, strong overhead for his size and certainly knows where the goals are. Having a great season.

He’s a deadset gun now. One of our best

Buddy 7th is interesting.
Player Ratings work on a 40 game period over the course of 2 years. Buddy didn't play for the entirety of 2020 which means he was only being rated for a single season of football, in 2021. This is where a lot of the more sharp rises in rating come from, then you've got Moore whose rise in rating is so high because he's improved markedly AND he's being rated for more games.

How does a guy with his size and lack of pace be an effective mid? He just finds a way. Keeps surprising every week. Interesting to see how he goes in midfield against some better teams for rest of season but I recall he was a mid as a junior.

He was slow for a small forward, I don't think he's materially slower than most other midfielders. Sam Mitchell wasn't tall and was slower than Moore, you don't need to be the quickest player on the field if you're making decisions and getting on the move faster and earlier than your opponent.

umm how is Jai only rated 273?

Think it accounts for seasons past performance as well as this years. Daresay Newcombe will shoot up the ranks next year if his level holds.

It's a total of weekly ratings off 40 games over a 2 season period. Notice how the guys in that list with 40 games rated are generally the highest, and it continues to dip the less games they're rated for.
