VFL Grand Final: 16 disposals - 3 marks - 3 tackles - 3 goals - 2 behinds

What an excellent second half in the VFL Moore had just kept on getting better with each game.

A big pre-season and he’ll play a lot of games next year at AFL level. :thumbsu:

If he can get some consistency in his goal kicking he's gonna make it to the big time.

Big pre-season to put on some size and strength through the hips like Breust and we got ourselves another gun.

Boomer Harvey in the making (minus the twat factor)
I’ve meant to post exactly this a few times but didn’t want to label the kid with such a harsh character.

Yeah but he was a super star. What characteristics do you think are similar?

Midget who can run all day with good skills and can kick a few sausage rolls.

Boomer had breakaway speed... Dylan does not... Don’t get me wrong: Dylan is doing well... he gets to the right positions, has solid body position, has clean hands, kicks well and tackles. He has everything
But he has to do everything better than the bigger bodied players (he has to conceivably beat Cripp)
Dylan is a “little fella” who cannot jump. He needs to go through the centre like Neale

Moore is very good overhead .

Dylan Moore tested pretty well for running and standing vertical jump, better than expected. He's also not as slow as his testing may potentially indicate, as he's incredibly quick of mind and it's something that doesn't get factored in when they do the 20m sprints.

When you get the ball, you need to start moving as quickly as possible and in the right direction. Doesn't help someone being .2 seconds quicker over 20 metres if they're 1 second slower of mind.

Dylan attended Caulfield grammar and heard his school coach talk on SEN late last year/early this year, can’t exactly remember when. However he said that he was surprised that Jack Higgins (who also attended Caufield Grammar) went before Dylan Moore in the 2017 draft given the character and leadership qualities of Dylan. Hope his judgement shines through long term!

PS Go and show this on the Tigers board they would go bananas

Is the onball midfield time at Box Hill next year all that necessary? Looks like he could do exceptionally well as a permanent small forward in the mold of Breust. With Rioli gone and Puopolo starting to show some signs of slowing down there's a spot there for him now if the defensive side of his game is up to scratch.

Might mean that he never reaches full potential though.

If there's a mid/forward capacity there (as opposed to fwd only) then I'd hate us to rush him into the side & never have him realise it.

I think he is a high half forward at afl level. Not really the pressure forward with electric pace that you need closer to goal. Playing midfield minutes at box hill will help him develop the ball winning he will need to succeed at afl level. Great be him time.

My thought was a wingman. Won the 2km time trial in his combine year and came second in the yo-yo test.

Has endurance to burn...

Why not develop him into a specialist small forward, let the bigger bodied blokes go midfield. He knows where the goals are,and is exceptional overhead for his size. When poppy retires Dylan is the ideal replacement.
