Goodwin was an absolute sook in his post match presser saying that Finn is a player that doesn’t want/play the ball. Ok so a big part of the game is getting the pill first …….. but keeping the ball from the opposition is also. No different to what Finn does to the best oppo players and I’m sure hypocrite Goodwin has never told his players to play keeping’s off at certain times during games NOT. Poor form having a cheap shot like that at Finn …… but having said that you know Finn must be doing a fine job 😀

I reckon Mitch pulling Finn off Oliver was a bit of a strategic move for the future? ………. he knows he’s definitely got this up his sleeve when he needs it!
Goodwin also conveniently forgetting that he sent multiple forwards to actively shut down Sicily all game 🤔 blow it out your backside Goody

Can we send Finn cardboard lookalikes to goodwins house haha, living in his head rent free
You could be onto something here. Please order a number of life size cardboard cutouts of finn and deliver 1 at 3am midweek to the front doorstep of his likely opponent each week next season, and if you want to go the extra mile deliver to the opposing head coach as well.

Finn in the bushes at goodwins house would be an all time gag, the club need to get to work, sell the life size cutouts

Not long ago Kane was generally a big knocker on the Hawthorn FC never held back on having the worst list, no youth, will be bottom 4 for years …… Then from memory he had Mitch on radio one day giving him an insight into his plans for the club, playing style he wants to adopt etc. Kane was so impressed by the interview I think he referred to Mitch a genius and has one of the best football brains going around ……. it like changed him overnight! It’s great that Sammy makes himself available win/loss or draw and now with Finn a tagger another big tick for the coach by Kane 👍

Our media handling pre and post Clarko is chalk and cheese.

Clarko had an old school "us against the world" approach to the media and Kennett made us a popular media target too. I much prefer Sam's approach in this regard - at least while we are near the bottom of the ladder !

Clarko definitely wanted to foster a siege mentality.

Exactly. Wait until we aren't the overachieving easybeats and are instead genuine competition leaders. The media will come with knives in hand. Caro with the innuendo and gossip. King with outrageous takes on gameplay. Robbo with the incessant hang-wringing. Damo with the worst takes that assume a murderous psychosis on Mitchell's part.

Everyone will return to form as the Hawks rise.

Some will, but getting the shock jocks on side now will ensure that it's at least balanced.

Kane Cornes and Robbo command attention. Cornes is all in, and despite robbo being a blubbering mess, he's on the fence

They will both return to form at the first opportunity. Cornes always takes the contrary position. Right now, that is for us. Tomorrow, when everyone says big things are expected of us next year, he'll flip. Robbo only supports us because we rub some extra salt in his wounds and causes him to cry a little harder. He's like a Franciscan monk flailing himself for his sins.

Updating the list of victims:

Oliver (three quarters)
Libba (until he was injured)
Daicos
Bolton
Rioli (three quarters)
Sheezel (first half)
Thomas (second half)
Dawson
Miller
T. Kelly
J. Kelly
Langdon
Sinclair (only one quarter)

Sheezel and Thomas other way around. Think he was on 20 touches to half time and had maybe 5-6 afterwards. Mostly kick ins.

Lots of scalps.

Does anyone know if we have a President at the moment......

Here's a question for the group...Is Finn an A-grader? He's clearly the best player at his role in the league and he is one of the more effective players going around, given his victories over so many other highly-rated players....

if I were Finn I'd take Goodwins comment as a compliment. he towelled up Oliver so bad Clayton had to go and tell the coach on him haha
You could tell Finn had him mentally by 1/4 time when he cracked it. Laying the groundwork well for future years when we are better and he goes to these players again. Some while be mentally gone the moment he walks up to them

No.

He's good at stopping A graders though.

No, he has only been performing a discrete (and important) role in the past couple of months.

Very few clubs run with a shut down player such as Finn.

So as a tagging midfielder he is top shelf right now, but an A grade midfielder needs to be able to balance that with offensive output.

Hopefully that will come through soon and he will become a solid B grader and then maybe an A grader (which is really all semantics FWIW).
