One of the talking points ahead of the EF was that arguably the best player in the league was playing in this game and the opposition would need to find a way to contain him if they were to be a shot at winning.

Obviously the talk was about Bontempelli, but maybe it should have been about this guy instead. What a clinic he put on.

Average player rating of 20.21 since the Adelaide game, Bontempelli's season average is 19.60.

The maths checks out!

Top 10 players of teams still in the finals, most recent form.

Newc is averaging 31 disposals at 81% DE, 365 metres gained, 10 ground ball gets, 4 centre clearances, 8 total, 1 goal assist and 10 score involvements a game.

If he can get another goal a game they're virtually identical numbers to Petracca 2021, just with better DE.

With Day out, our chances of beating the Bulldogs depended a lot on Jai's performance. And he didn't let us down.

He rose to the occasion like a caffeine addict at a coffee shop—wide-eyed, enthusiastic, and fueled by a desperate need for success.

The only bad thing he did on the night was breaking Josh Ward's nose.

Mass I get. Surprised to see Weddle there.

After a slow start to the year Duke's hitting top gear at the right time. He does like playing the Doggies, though.

He's massively underrated by non Hawks, being a MSD pick up, but still as a load of upside, with a long career ahead. Big, strong, tough, skilled and durable. Also a very fair player, without a big ego, who is prepared to role play for his team. So glad he is a Haw!

He had an inconsistent start but he almost single handedly dragged us over the line against Collingwood in Round 4, and was best on in Round 6 against North. Feel his early season woes were over sold.

Polled coaches votes in 10 games this season, the same as Moore. In all honesty polling in that many games for the Hawks is like polling in 15 at another club given how even we are.

The guy is made of granite

Our blokes should know better than to get in his way

First Day and now Ward.
