Led the game for Score Launches (starting a possession chain leading to a score) with 5, Centre Clearances with 5, second for Score Involvements with 11, second for ground ball gets with 10. Seems like he just decides to excel at a different part of footy each week. This week he just decided he'd be the best centre clearance mid, for a change. After the bye he might decide to kick a bag for a change.
I still don’t get this (not your post but the complaints). “Fairer” equates to being able to employ someone at a rate they may not want to be employed at, just doesn’t seem fair to the player at all. In fact I’d take it as far as letting all draftees being able to nominate whatever terms they’d like to get drafted at, and not just the MSD. Some potential draftees will price themselves out of the market whilst others will be compensated fairer to market value.Seeing him continually play so well knowing that the Swans were so miffed we were able to get him that they complained enough to get draft rules changed to make it "fairer" gives me life.
Where do i find the player ratings? I looked on the afl website but I can't find it lolNow gone past golden boy Nick Daicos in the Champion Data AFL Player Ratings
Last year he polled the same number of Brownlow votes, was in our best five players more often than Daics over the season according to the AFLs own website, had a higher fantasy point average, finished higher in our B&F than Daics did for the Pies, and of course he won the coaches award. And yet not only did he not win the Rising Star, he didn’t even come runner up!Now gone past golden boy Nick Daicos in the Champion Data AFL Player Ratings

The pies were a kick off the grand final and we were 13th.Last year he polled the same number of Brownlow votes, was in our best five players more often than Daics over the season according to the AFLs own website, had a higher fantasy point average, finished higher in our B&F than Daics did for the Pies, and of course he won the coaches award. I don’t dispute that, it’s that he didn’t even come second that baffles me!The pies were a kick off the grand final and we were 13th.
So some of those should be in Dukes favour.
No shame in Duke coming in behind Daicos. Even this year as Daicos has been one of the best in the league this year. And in with a very good shout of winning the Brownlow with only a tight tag probably going to stop him at this point.
De Koning was massive in Geelong winning a flag. Hasn’t quite kicked on this year due to injury. But when he’s played he’s done fairly well.I don’t dispute that, it’s that he didn’t even come second that baffles me!
I agree, no shame in coming behind Daicos. I still think that Newcombe was given the "not a first year player" penalty which was always going to come back to bite him if any first year player was in the same ballpark as him.The pies were a kick off the grand final and we were 13th.

If only someone started the rumour that he is a distant relation to lethal himself, then people would give more noticeI agree, no shame in coming behind Daicos. That said, being the best midfielder in the rising star pool despite being in the worst midfield in the league, without a recognised ruck for over half the season, should have had him rated ahead of De Koning. Even with how young he is, being a key defender in a team averaging 4 less inside 50s against than the next closest team isn't a particularly difficult role - particularly playing over half the season on the most easily defended ground in the AFL.
I think that one could have gone either way between the two of them. Personally I had it Daicos first then toss a coin between Duke and SDK. I was hoping Duke would get second.I agree, no shame in coming behind Daicos. SDK was a reason they didn't concede many inside 50s? C'mon. The score conceded by Geelong is beside the point, the ball got there 10% less than the next best side and 50% less than the worst side. He had a very easy job.I think that one could have gone either way between the two of them. Personally I had it Daicos first then toss a coin between Duke and SDK. I was hoping Duke would get second.
But team performance unfortunately does come into these things a little. And SDK was a big part of the cats defence in why they didn’t concede much.
It’s not a shocker just a bit disappointing.
If anything it might push Duke to outperform these guys in the long term which is what really matters in the end

Trust me it is the most accurate of all the comparisons. Screw this Wines/Petracca garbage. The only thing of Matthews he doesn't have is the Rioli-like twisting and turningeg the 1979 goal of the year:Not that I ever saw lethal play, but why ot have comparisons?

Often he'd leave three opponents on the ground because they'd dive to tackle and he wouldn't be there.
Yes. I almost went to that game. Hadn't missed a game yet, but the train to Sydney has already left and I was 14, so my mum wouldn't let me fly.The SCG game in 79. In an era where the Swans swam in Albert Park Lake, not on the Harbour.
