Frwd or gtfo. But seriously, we NEED frwds , we have enough options down back like developing a pick 6!!!
İf frwds can't Frwd , then good night and good luck. I know I'm going a bit over the top but I don't wanna know about a 6'3 mobile Frwd going in defence ....not again. Maybe, it was to get him into the game a bit more but I feel this kid has some good traits as third tall up Frwd.
We have Ryan, Jeka, Thorpe, Greene, Ramma, Serong up forward someone has to go back or play somewhere else because we can't have all of them in the forward line.
I still think he will be a forward for us but its just giving him a taste down back while we have other options forward.
atm he's a VFL player though so he's going to play where they need him there and in a position that would aid his development. You aren't going to play Thorpe, Greene, Ryan, Ramma or even tucker down back so the more versatile player will make the move.Jeka - likely delisted
Ryan - KPF MSD flier
Greene - isn't a long-term solution
Thorpe - VFL listed, should not be stiffling the development of AFL listed players
Ramma is a ruck/forward.
Meanwhile we have CJ, Scrimshaw, Sicily, Weddle and DGB that can all play that third tall / HBF defensive role.
What's more likely, Serong is going to force his way past the first group or the second group?
Was it his first week back following illness (or his first full game back)?Playing him in defence is baffling. We have several players that play that role, but no third tall forwards. Makes absolutely no sense.
Not his first, although I think he had a quieter game up forward the week before, maybe it was a matter of getting him a bit more involved. Was it his first week back following illness (or his first full game back)?
Could be a way of easing him back to the playing fitness required of his HHF position, maybe??
I get the feeling he'll get an extra year and might get tried as a winger or something.VFL - Round 12
Serong: 19 disposals - 6 marks - 6 rebound 50s
He played as the third tall defender against Brisbane and did quite well. I’ve said this before, he tends to play much better when he’s allowed to play higher up the ground.
Yup. I've only seen the last half (on TV) but he's positioned well, marked well & is composed with the footy. Is Jai playing back for Box Hill today?

Nah he was a key defender. He was excellent esp in the 2nd Q when Port had many repeat inside 50s.He’s essentially playing the same role as Scrimshaw, albeit in the VFL of course.
Is he big enough to be a KPD at afl level? (With another season in gym)Nah he was a key defender. He was excellent esp in the 2nd Q when Port had many repeat inside 50s.
He showed the ability to chest opponents under the ball and mark. This is a good quality for defenders.
Looks to be close to being back to full fitness.
He's a watch.
