Box Hill continued its winning ways taking home a five-point victory against North Melbourne on the weekend, which saw several senior-listed players produce strong performances.

Jai Serong (22 disposals, 8 marks)

"Jai played back again. He didn't necessarily have a match-up this week, but had to play different roles and slide across and he did it really well. We're really impressed with how Jai's going as a defender. The beauty with Jai is his aerial contest, but then he is also able to get involved at ground level and involved in Hawks ball. He had 22 disposals at 86 per cent efficiency, five score involvements, two contested marks - that's a really solid sign as a defender. He was really impressive. Without Damian Mascitti out there I put it on all our defenders to show some leadership this week, and Jai was one of those. He was really valuable in helping us get set up behind the ball. It was another step forward for Jai in that position."

Most positive performance review I have seen from BH.
I think we have found a new KPD.

I would pick Serong over Frost for next week. It’s time we give this kid a chance. He deserves to play off the back of his good work load the last six weeks.

Frost stays but as a 2nd ruck. I would be happy to trial a Serong/Blanck/Sicily pairing.

I would love for Frost to not play again. It's time we moved on. He's not the answer let's use these last games to expose others.

A little too short for me with the size of forwards these days. I'm not sure that we can play Sic and Serong together as a defensive duo for team balance's sake down back. Serong could be the forward we've been looking for and drafted for and just getting some education down back. He can play, interesting watch for mine.

Apparently he's grown but nothing official.

Looks a lot taller than what he was listed at though and not unheard of a guy to grow a few cm post-draft.

Even if he can play in the Ben Stratton role of our last flag would help our backline a lot going forward.

Box Hill Coach Zane Littlejohn has reviewed the performances of every AFL listed Hawk following their recent win against the Sandringham Zebras.

Jai Serong (18 disposals, 5 marks)

"Jai had another really strong game, he spent a majority of the day on Tim Membrey who returned from injury for Sandringham and he was set up really well with the play and get that role done, and I'd arguably say he got the chocolates on the day. He's been able to play games where he has had to play on opposition, and then games where he has been able to have a free flowing game as well. He kept Membrey to nine touches and the one goal, which is a great job by Jai and shows he is able to be really versatile in his defensive post."

I’m really liking the reports coming through re Jai’s progress last couple months a nice surprise given we probably/initially drafted him as a 3rd tall forward type ……….. has he got the size/ability down back to take on CHF’s such as the King’s, Naughton etc?

Play him for Frost. This week.
I would not hesitate in making that move.

Frosts good is pretty good.
Frosts bad is very bad.

Play Serong & see how he goes now that he has some confidence up.

I’d love nothing more than for him to make it.

Jai is only in his second year and being a tall would be staying on the list you would imagine.

Wouldn’t It be better to give Jeka another game or two before the season is out to see if he gets once last chance at a list spot for 2024?
Why not give them both ago.
Id really like us to test the waters, with our untried players in the last 4 rounds.

Little concerned after reading the BH reports that he might put on a bit too much weight.

He’s getting a lot of chocolates.
Don’t be - suffered a cardiac event which meant he pretty much couldn’t do any exercise for a significant period of time. Of course you would put in weight. Just hope he has made a full recovery which does look likely
