Well done Mass, made the squad for the 22 under 22! What an awesome recruitment this was.
Given he is in some genuine AA discussions for those that would pick a team with genuine wingers then I think he should make this team quite easily.

Sorry to intrude your board, but I’m glad to see Mass doing really well for you guys. How he wasn’t getting a game at my club over Dyson Heppell is one of the biggest disappointments Brad Scott has done.
We’re very lucky Archie Roberts is at my club, he’s very similar to Massimo, and was selected with pick 54.
Good luck with the rest of your season, I genuinely think you guys can win the grand final this year, incredibly well coached team and Will Day is a superstar.

Honestly this bloke looks a class above every time I watch him. He was BOG today, make no mistake about it. He is in every link up that ends up in a score. Shout out to Amon too. Feel like he's getting a bit underrated cos we just expect it from him now. Mass will prob be like that in future, but FMD what were Essendon thinking. Dodo is on leave apparently, would have to be stress leave after watching this guy

I hope u r enjoying our gifts!

Deserves an AA blazer.
He does but when he inevitably gets snubbed because AA selectors refuse to respect the role hopefully he can join Smith as a multiple time Premiership player and Norm Smith winner (last award in our colours this time though).

I know we've had a few gracious Essendon supporters congratulate us and Mass on his form, but for most of the season they have been comforted by sitting quite high on the ladder, and certainly much higher than us.

While their form was better, their half-back and wing options were doing well too.
I wonder if they still feel the same way having dropped out of the top 8.

Far be it for us to gloat after having given up the trade of this century for a packet of chips, but I would not be surprised if the feeling of regret is more prominent among the Bombers fans now that we are rising and Mass is only getting better each week.

There was a perception on the Essendon board that Massimo was a soft, unaccountable player who had good skills but was a defensive liability. Somewhat like a Bramble who could actually kick. They weren't upset to see him go.

Mass hasn't shirked a contest once with us. He has constantly put his head over the ball, and has taken multiple intercept marks going back with the flight. Not once has he been a defensive liability.

I wager many Bombers fans don't watch Hawk games except in snippets, and so cling to the idea that we structure our side to facilitate Massimo's lack of defensive ability. But Mass has been an active contributor to our defensive structures, dropping back into defence on multiple occasions. Those who notice are starting to get upset.

I genuinely have no idea why they let him go for that cheap. Astute talent identification and recruiting. Probably my favourite pickup since Ricky Henderson.

At 21 years young for pick 61 and a future 4th round. I dub thee Massimo 'The Future' D'Ambrosio.

There was a lot of noise why we even gave away picks for him when we could have got him for free.

But what we know now the club must have wanted to make sure we 100% locked him away, and another club couldn’t swoop in and offer more money at the last minute.

Pretty sure we gave up a pick just to appease Dodo and make it look like he did something good. MM said after that we weren't going to use that pick anyway (we have enough to cover McCabe and Dear bids). We still ended up with a pick left over, so we grabbed Ryan.

Interesting when Sicily missed All Australian two years ago, it was probably the worst call I can remember. Their ‘reasoning’ was because he was playing key position (as we had very few other options) May was doing that ‘position’ better and wanted a more physical fullback. This is despite Sicily being the best defender (most coaches votes) that year and him easily playing the floating defender role as he is so versatile with and without the ball. All the rubbish justification from Healy and Cornes was about his ‘position’.

Now D’Ambrossio is rated the top 2 wingman, the talk is they probably won’t pick him because they need to fit other midfielders in they can’t squeeze into the starting midfield but who don’t play a very specialised position. I don’t necessarily think its the worst thing, depending who they pick, if they do this. But then it makes Sicily’s omission even worse that they switch their criteria and contradict themselves, and don’t pick D’Ambrossio.
